Los Remanseros — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

I can’t believe it. I live in the neighborhood and I have been to this restaurant a dozen times or more. Tonight I had my mother visiting in town and I was so excited to bring her. She’s in a wheelchair. I called several times (around 19:00) but no one answered. Finally at the exact moment they open - 20:00, they answered. I asked if they could could please hold a table for us. The man who answered said they don’t take reservations, but I know that they do. I’ve reserved a table there many times in the past. When I told him that, he explained that while they had a couple of tables open, they do not take same day reservations. I explained that we were about to walk over with the wheelchair - and it would be so nice if they could please just hold one of open tables for us for five minutes. He said absolutely not. And he said the bathroom was not equipped for wheelchairs. I told him that wasn’t a problem and that we were ready to go. He said no exceptions. No tables are held. Not even for five minutes at 20:00 when they open. Doesn’t matter if you have limited mobility. What a tremendous shame. Palermo keeps to amaze. Super local restaurant with a western romantic vibe entrance. Inside is usually packed with local people that are there to share a typical meal together. It can't get more authentic than that .

The menu is humongous, there's so many different types of meat, many entradas, many postres. I had the default bife de chorizo, with mushroom and paprika sauce. Incredible. There's no need to ask how you want the meat, a punto (the standard one) is juicy and tender and perfectly light red inside. A lot of fish options too.

Portions are massive, so beware with 4k pesos you get out rolling. Highly recommended...

As some previous review read, it seems the servers have their favorite customers. I felt invisible as I entered quite early by myself and had to walk all the way up to the cashier to initiate a conversation with him to get a table. Almost all empty but only one available, right next to a senior couple already on their main course. Took some time before I could place my order. Steak was thick and ranged from raw to well-done.
