I went here for lunch and was tricked into paying for everything individually rather than the promotion. I asked if I could pay with card and showed my phone to tap to pay and was told by the server I could. I then proceeded to order the promotion set for three empanadas, a dessert and a drink. The server came back and told me some of the empanadas were not available with the promotion so I had to choose different empanadas which I did. When the bill came, they brought me an itemized list of everything at full price and told me I don’t get a promotion because I am not paying in cash. They then showed me on the menu the fine print that says promotions are for cash only. I would understand if I never read the fine print and simply ordered expecting to pay with card. However, I specifically asked if it was ok to pay with card and they said yes. I told the waitress this was not ok because I asked about paying with card when putting in my order and they told me it was ok. She then went to ask the manager and they came back telling me I don’t get a promotion and have to pay for everything. I would not have gotten dessert nor a drink if I knew I had to pay everything individually. They knew they would charge me full price because they brought and itemized bill with all the items and told me at the end no promotion. They also charge you 800 for a place setting. I do not recommend this place because they purposely tricked me.
Read moreA super traditional Argentinian restaurant, one of the very few in Buenos Aires where you can find Locro (a pre-columbian squash and meat stew) every day and not just during the May celebrations. The empanadas are amazing, especially the ones with knife-cut meat (Tucuman style) with thin pastry and lots of delicious filling. If you are "feeling brave" or you are accustomed to this kind of dishes, I highly recommend the beef tripe (Mondongo) which was absolutely outstanding, super tender and cooked to perfection. Prices are not quite as cheap as in a bodegón, but still very reasonable and affordable. Service is a bit "curt", but it somehow lends itself to the simple atmosphere of the place and it is never rude. Highly recommended for an evening of Argentinian...
Read moreNot great; Do not recommend. The food is acceptable, but the service is abysmal. I walked in telling the server "para aquí" (for here), but he insisted on making my order to-go. The chef was also confused I guess from this bizarre behavior and prepared my food in a bowl to eat in the restaurant. When I picked it up and was looking to find a seat, another server intercepted me, took my food, and yelled at the chef "para llevar", to prepare my food to-go. I told him I wanted to eat in the restaurant (in Spanish), since it was raining, but he ignored me. I am not sure why they insisted on pushing me out so vehemently, but this place definitely has service problems. I ordered the "locro", and it was fine. Not particularly fresh or well-prepared, but...
