It was a short wait before we got seated, although the mezzanine was available the hostess told us we could not go there…?

It is a nice place well decorated and beautiful environment, very clean. The service was not great considering it is a more upper scale venue. The staff was by inexperienced and did not check in between to make sure we don’t need anything…. Before placing our order we inquired about the pancakes, unfortunately they only serve them between specific hours and we missed the window by a few minutes!

We had a bit of a challenge when starting our order because the server did not know what an “affogato” is although it was on the menu, so he had to go ask a colleague who took over pur ordering; maybe because he was new and did not know how to find it on the tablet? So we got an iced moka, an affogato, an orange juice, a tostado with cream avocado and a poached egg, and scrambled eggs with panceta and toast. Not a total surprise but still disappointing that the affogato came with a half scoop of ice cream and a shot of coffee the server poured in the glass which was barely 1/3 filled. The moka and tostado with avocado and poached egg were tasty; however the scrambled eggs were almost overcooked with the panceta barely cooked! The toasts were hard and obviously unpleasant to eat… The breakfast for two came out to 20,000 including tips!

Maybe their specialty is on the pastries… as they looked nice? But as far as breakfast/brunch, I cannot say that we were impressed with the quality-price ratio. Overall we are not in a position to recommend a detour for this place. You can always go take a look out of curiosity and see for yourself if you want to try anything else on their menu. When you miss something as basic as scrambled eggs and bacon… it is questionable about the rest...

Our at experience at Padre at first was awful at first. My partner and I came in with our laptops and each needed a table to work separately since their tables are so small. The waitress first told us we aren’t allowed to sit separately which is laughable! Half the place was empty and the entire upstairs are was vacant. What if I came in a single person by myself? Would they force me to sit with another stranger?! This place puts profits over customer satisfaction. They also old us there was a hour and a half limit to using our computers even though we order constantly. We don’t just sit and drink water. The waitress with the tattoos was unprofessional and had a bad attitude. The staff constantly hang around watching you and it made me very uncomfortable. If it wasn’t for Michelle I would have given this place one star. She is the only waitress that was nice and smiled at us. Luckily the food and coffee here is delicious so it earned them another star. I don’t recommended coming here If you’re looking for a nice place to work and eat/drink. They don’t care if you enjoy yourself, only that you eat quickly, pay and leave.

We ordered two main sandwiches, 4 coffees...

Good coffee and Nice Atmosphere, HOWEVER... I really like this place, visit it frequently, and also recommend it to others. There are a couple of elements which any future visitor should be aware of, and if the owner is reading this, perhaps may wish to take into account: -The smell from the toilets (which are upstairs) can be noticed all the way down. This is not a one-time incident but rather a part of their every-day reality. Investing in a bit of time and cleaning products would easily and cheaply resolve the issue and your customers would appreciate it. They turn on the AC only when absolutely necessary (with an obvious intention to save on the expenses related to running a business). If you are considering coming to this place at the hottest time of the day, remember that you'd enjoy the same good coffee and nice atmosphere at the competitors down the street where the coolness of the AC...

Padre is a chic cafe in Palermo that is new and very popular, Porteños will wait on line in the street for a chance to get in during busy times. Also, it’s dog friendly and Porteños do love their dogs so you will see a number of dogs inside most likely and this adds to the appeal for many in this area. They are known for these pastries, round croissants, with a bit of cream and fruit or not. They called them NYC croissants, but I am from NYC and I have never seen anything like that, lol. The coffee was nice, the service was pleasant, and the interior is spacious and airy, it’s a nice spot if you are in that neighborhood. There were also some eggs and other cooked dishes that people were having for brunch. It seems that Sundays are the busiest days in this type of establishment.
