I wouldn't wish those drinks on my worst enemy! They charge you for the drinks the same they charge you in Florería Atlántico (ranked no. 5 in The World's 50 Best Bars 2021), but what you get is so disappointing, so abrasive it's insulting. We ordered a total of 4 drinks. We should have stopped after we got the first 2 (one for each); and we actually had to send one back: the most basic pisco sour was lacking the foamy head (even though they had attempted to implement it). The rest of the drinks didn't seem to have any of the ingredients mentioned in the drink description in the menu and consisted of an overpowering citrus juice (lemon, lime and grapefruit, depending on the drink) and a hint of low quality spirits. That last description, as suspicious as it may seem, is accurate for all of the three drinks I attempted to describe. Violet liquor, lemongrass? Yeah right... Instead of feeling the hint of such products in your drink, you'll be having the impression that some 19-old college student just fixed you a screwdriver. It's like expecting a warm croissant and getting stale bread instead. The prices are just outrageous. Each set of 4 MINI empanadas was 1900 pesos (I completely overlooked the price when ordering, unfortunately) and they were good, but you would expect something better for that price. I consider the service to have been rather on the poor side, but we didn't have an outright displeasing experience per se with the waitress. The setting, the decoration, those are truly well achieved. Overall impression: very pretentious and very low quality in a good looking environment. Nefarious "drinks" for outrageous prices with poor service. I spent 15 years in Europe and have visited a vast range of different bars, many of them very exclusive. Now I am a local in Buenos Aires again and my advice to foreign tourists is the following: go somewhere else. Why? The prices might seem OK to you as a foreigner due to the crippling inflation Argentina is going through, but let me assure you that for what you'll pay in that place, you'll have the best of times in any of the truly top bars in the city. Florería Atlántico being one great example of that: that speakeasy is no. 5 in the world ranking of bars and has been in the top 10 for some time now. Just like that, if you ask around, you'll find other similar bars and speakeasies where you'll have the time of your life and which you'll remember for...
Read moreI came to this bar very excited. I’ve been to many great bars in many cities - a few of which have been in this very city. Upon entering I was really impressed by the setting and the imaginative drinks list - I opted for a negroni. The bartender told me they were out of Hendrick’s and offered me a choice of other gins. I made my choice and my partner made hers. After I ordered I watched the bartender pull a premixed labeled bottle, from a selection of them, off the shelf and add an ice cube to a cup and stir it (pictured). My drink didn’t taste fresh - infact it tasted syrupy and weak. My partners drink was supposedly gin based and flavored with lavender but it tasted like an over sweet citrus juice. Pure style over substance here - probably much better bars in BA for you to visit.
Updated: I was actually charged extra for the Gin alternative I was offered even though that was not made clear when I ordered. My “negroni” ended up...
Read moreAwesome speakeasy in the area. It's a coffee shop during the day and turns into a speakeasy in the evening. Made a reservation for our group to make sure we got in easy. Things don't really start until around 11pm. We came in at 830 and we were the only group inside hahaha!
They have great cocktails, I enjoyed their gin drinks in particular! We also had a number of the food items which included the steak, pork, croquettes, empanadas, and their 45 minute eggs. All were great!
Really awesome speakeasy and it had a great vibe and awesome details to the decor! It is quite dark inside but a great vibe nonetheless!I...
