Don Luis — Restaurant in El Calafate

Nice place. Decent coffee and pastries. I would have given them four stars but I ordered the chicken avocado sandwich to go.

It's terrible. Pre-made who knows when. Thick dry bread. Some tasteless "avocado" spread (I literally didn't know what it was till I remembered the sandwich said avocado). Soft mushy tomato slices. Dry, chewy slices of chicken.

I couldn't even get my mouth around the log of bread. I ended up opening it and just picking off the chicken.

Don Luis, es espectacular porque es el único lugar de El Calafates que tiene precios coherentes. El Calafates es un lugar con precios elevados que no tienen lógica y la Panadería Don Luis lo ofrece. En plena temporada, febrero 2022, ofrece sándwich riquísimos y súper súper completos ( a tal punto de no poder terminarlos como el de campo) a $450. Empanadas riquísima y súper rellenas a $150 cada una, de jamón y queso, pollo, carne, verduras, humita. Tartas $450 Meriendas desde $300. Las tortas súper frescas y la porción desde $400. Vale la pena destacar que todo es fresco, abundante y de calidad. Mientras que un almuerzo con sándwich en un resto vale $2000 acá sale $450.- y Podes llevar o podes comerlo ahí.
