Old Marani Tavern — Restaurant in Yerevan

My party of three visited hoping for an authentic meal, only to find there was no English menu and the one staff member who spoke English couldn’t (or wouldn’t) explain anything. We chose the khinkali listed as “5 pieces – 550” and assumed that was the price for the whole plate. Imagine our shock when three orders, one per person, totaled 7 500! It turns out it was 550 AMD per dumpling, not per plate. Although the khinkali themselves were enormous, we only managed to eat 6 out of the 15 dumplings we’d paid for. The food was the main thing we liked there. It was more delicious than you could expect by the first time entering there. A very important point, what you are going to eat is exactly the same as in the menu. Service was good but not perfect, there is a place to make it better. We sit outside, and waited for more then 15 minutes. There was an electronic ringbell on each table, and we used it for 3 times, and noone show up!
