I recently visited Caucasys Tavern based on the recommendation of a local guide. Let me start by highlighting the positive aspects of my experience. The menu was incredibly diverse, featuring specialties from Armenia, Georgia, and the Caucasus region as a whole. The variety of dishes offered was impressive.
The taste of the food was satisfactory. I ordered a soup and a specialty dish, which was a kind of organ meat stew made from lamb. While the flavors were decent, there was nothing exceptional about the taste.
However, one aspect that disappointed me was the poor English proficiency of the staff. Despite ordering bread, it was forgotten and took around 20 minutes to arrive. This delay resulted in my food getting cold. It would be beneficial for the staff to improve their language skills to ensure smooth communication with international customers.
Furthermore, the hospitality and professionalism of the staff could use some improvement. When it came time to settle the bill, the waitress seemed visibly displeased when I didn't leave a tip. However, the level of service provided did not warrant a tip in my opinion.
On a positive note, I must mention that the lemon cake I had for dessert was delicious. Overall, I would say that the food at Caucasys Tavern was satisfactory, but there is room for improvement in terms of staff hospitality and professionalism.
To sum it up, this is my realistic and honest review of my experience at...
Read moreIf I could would rate 0. Started with not great customer service, wr waired long until someone took order. Was not even busy in restaurant. Food was not fresh, we pointed out many times to staff, that food not hot, colour was steange and u could see kyufta already went dark and butter did not even melted, bread was not freshly made as wss pre heated then turned hard stine, khinkali was exploded and all juice was out. Then last we ordered bbq fish but it came cold not even sign off being of fire. Staff was just not admiting that food is not fresh. We left all as was not possible to eat. Been so many retaurants in Yerevan and tasted freshly made food, but Caucadus Tavern just disrespected customers and this is can lead to poisoning ppl with not fresh food. They did not apologised just said will pasd it to kitchen! All they done. We paid for food we did not even eat. Poor place. Will...
Read moreWe went here in June at our holiday. We had the best food here. The restaurant is located a little bit outside the city center but it is not too far. You can walk there easily. The prices were very fair and the portions were big. We had amazing aubergines and Tolma (wine leaves) as starter. And also the main dishes were great. We also loved the drinks here especially the compot. Not every waiter speaks English but the whole staff was very friendly and we just ordered by pointing at the menue. At first we where surprised that they lead us in the basement to our table. But it was very nice there. It was cool which was a great benefit because it was very hot at this day. The decoration was also very nice. The service was very fast. There was also free WiFi. So I can highly recommend this place. We would...
