As others have pointed out, this is a large, 12 storey, centrally located hotel built in the Soviet era that would benefit from further updating. The corridors and rooms are somewhat dingy with dark furniture and old fashioned patterned carpet but there has been some attempt at refurbishment. |My room was very spacious with big windows and had arm chairs and a coffee table, dressing table and a desk. However, the floor was uneven under the carpet as if consisting of lumpy concrete. The bed was huge with nice linens and I found it comfortable. Facilities included tea and coffee tray, fridge, iron and board, a safe that was at a sensible height, easily operated with an illuminated electronic key pad, suitcase stand, a TV that I didn’t try, sufficient electrical sockets and quiet a/c. |The bathroom had a new toilet and basin but the shower tray had seen better days. There was plenty of hot water except for the first night when there was a power cut and the pipes gurgled air. At that time nothing worked and I was awoken by loud voices in the corridor as new arrivals sought their rooms in the torchlight of a mobile phone and at the neighbouring room a staff member attempted to open the door when the keycard didn’t work. |My room was always made up but vacuuming could have been better as I found a coin and a sliver of foil on the floor on arrival. |The hotel takes a lot of tour groups, some very large, and they all arrive at the same time for breakfast which at peak times is noisy, chaotic and difficult to find a table. Staff work hard to clear tables and replenish the buffet which was excellent. There’s no hot food cooked to order but only very picky eaters will struggle to find something they can enjoy. Staying for five nights I wasn’t bored by the offer. |The hotel has a bar, coffee counter, ATM and souvenir shop in the lobby and a courtyard and outdoor terrace onto the street. I used the swimming pool and single sex sauna and had a very thorough pummelling by an enthusiastic masseuse. |The lifts are somewhat idiosyncratic and during busy mornings with people going to breakfast and checking out I found myself going up and down two or three times as they responded to calls in both directions missing out my floor. |I appreciated the central location within easy walking distance of Republic Square, the Cascade Complex, shopping malls, restaurants, museums, local shops and foreign exchange facilities. |It’s no boutique hotel and certainly not fancy but staff were friendly, hardworking and helpful. Overall I was very happy that my tour company arranged this accommodation and I would stay there again with...
Read moreWe had a pleasant stay at Ani Plaza in Yerevan, with its comfortable rooms, central location, and welcoming front desk staff as standout features. The hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance of the city’s main attractions, making it an excellent base for exploring Yerevan. Our room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with great city views, adding to the overall experience.
However, we encountered several issues that dampened our stay. First, the in-house restaurant experience was disappointing. The staff there seemed unfriendly, and unfortunately, their attitude towards tourists felt, at times, rude and unwelcoming. Service was slow and noticeably inconsistent, which made us feel as if tourists were less prioritized than other patrons. This biased attitude was discouraging, and it certainly didn't reflect the rest of the hotel’s hospitality.
Additionally, we were surprised to find that there was no 24/7 bellboy service, which was inconvenient for us when arriving and departing with luggage. For a hotel of Ani Plaza’s caliber, 24/7 assistance is an expected amenity, and its absence was noticeable.
Overall, while Ani Plaza provides a comfortable stay with quality rooms and a prime location, improvements in restaurant hospitality and 24/7 guest assistance would greatly enhance the experience for all travelers. We recommend the hotel for the rooms and location but suggest trying nearby restaurants for a more welcoming...
Read moreWe stayed at Ani Plaza Hotel for three weeks with a group of 14 students and two university professors from Los Angeles, CA. From the check in time until the check out, we had the most wonderful experience. At the check in Nairi and Arsen were so wonderful. They were very helpful and made us feel at home. The rooms are very nice, well supplied with all kinds of toiletries. The housekeeping team Ana and Nairi were wonderful! They kept the rooms perfect clean and so pleasant to talk to them. They handled our laundry very well and in a timely fashion which was very helpful for our long stay. The lobby was very relaxing to hang out and socialize. Ana, the room coordinator was very fantastic with her accommodations. Noobar the night manager kept all our room bills itemized in an organized fashion and patiently explaining all the transactions. In fact all the front desk employees were always very helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect and within walking distance to all the restaurants, cafes, Opera, Republic and Vernissage. Finally the breakfast feast is something to experience. You will be able to find everything on their breakfast options. Absolutely beautiful and well worth it. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay...
