Yerevan Tavern — Restaurant in Yerevan

Such a pity to see a place like this going so down…You guys should work on your service a lot. Even though the law prohibits smoking, the main hall was full of smoke, and when we asked the waiter why they’re not following the law, instead of asking the other persons to turn off the cigarette, they invited us to the closed hall. We went to this particular location to enjoy the canyon and the nature riverside, but we were taken to a closed hall which smelled like old and uncleaned food… But the adventure continues - now the cleaning lady arrives and while we’re eating, she starts cleaning the floor with starch: imagine the acute chemical odor mixed with the food. Now we ask the waiter to ask her stop doing that and wiping away the chemicals so that we are able to humanly finish the meal. Guess what - it never happened. The desperate waiter offered burning coffee instead to eliminate the odor, but we were concerned that now this will become another problem. Not mentioning that the rest of the staff was smoking right in front if our hall the whole time taking turns… So sorry this place which used to be a favorite once losing the quality so badly… You made our few days’ experience in homeland awful and disgusting. Overall a decent place with good kitchen. It's right next to the Hrazdan river, so if you want to "be" in the countryside without leaving Yerevan, you can definitely consider it. That said I believe it makes more sense to visit this place during the warmer months, since there's also a spacious balcony there which must feel lovely in spring or summer. Food was quite good especially for the price, however nothing extraordinary. Hummus and aubergine rolls were my favorites. The service was great: both fast and polite. Went there last night. The appetizers were not bad however the main bbq/kabob was look warm when they brought it, the meat was overcooked and way way too SALTY! We kept ordering bottles of water ( and they sell u the mini ones so u buy more). The show was nice and the live music was good. Overall this place is way too pricy for the quality of the food they serve, the waiters all had attitudes ( it was a chore when we would order something). There are so many better places to go for...
