The room, facilities, service, food, staff, housekeeping/cleanliness are extremely poor. Not to mentioned, the language barriers. My travel agent paid extra charges for my early check in, and which I was showing the reference, and explaining to the Receptionist, however, she was still insisting, it was not arranged and there was no available room. Luckily, the Cab Driver who dropped me off from the Airport translated it to the Receptionist and was explaining it again, and that was the only time she looked at my booking in their system and my reference. The room itself, especially the washroom was very dirty, has stains and dirt everywhere; the mini refrigerator was dead dirty same with the glasses, no cups, no kettle. I asked the receptionist to let the housekeeping sorted out the washroom, since the housekeeping lass who I was talking with and I was requesting nicely was very rude and kept on telling she couldn't understand and speak English "NO ENGLISH". I stayed there for 7 nights, and I have to keep on reminding the Receptionist to inform properly the housekeeping to clean the room accordingly and change the beddings at least on the third day. The food and the staff in their breakfast were rubbished, and useless - staff would always looks like miserable and not willing to help and assist. I asked for the hot water since they didn't provide the kettle (as per the receptionist, they don't have enough kettles), the Staff in their coffee shop were very rude and would speak in their language so that the customers wouldn't understand their arguments and complaints against their customer(s).The door has no double locked from inside (JUST AN ORDINARY KEY), the housekeeping would go to your room even you already put the sign do not disturb and even the door is already locked, but since they have access, they will just knock once and even you already mentioned, please do not come in, they would still come in. When I asked for the DUTY MANAGER to sorted out all these issues, the Receptionist was making of excuses.I think the DUTY MANAGER was always receiving unlimited complaints, and she/he needs to hide and not willing to resolve the issues. I tried before the other hotels in Armenia, but Shirak was the worst one, and you can't compare with others. Unbelievable. I am not expecting any excellent service or in terms of cleanliness, however this hotel and the staff, didn't meet even...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this hotel.I originally planned to stay for 4 nights, but the conditions were so appalling that I checked out after only 1 night.
The Positive: To be fair,I must mention that some of the staff members were cooperative and polite. Unfortunately, this positive was completely overshadowed by the rude and insolent behavior of other personnel.
The Negative: The list of problems at this hotel is extensive:
· Heating System: The heating system in my room did not work properly, leaving us in a very cold room on a chilly night. · Cleanliness: The cleanliness was a disaster. The carpet on the floor was visibly dirty, and the forks and spoons at breakfast were clearly unclean and stained. · Technical & Safety Issues: The toilet in the room was leaking water. Furthermore, the windows would not close completely, which was a major safety hazard, especially for children. · Room Ambiance: The room was very poorly lit and felt gloomy. · View: Even though our room was on the eighth floor, instead of a view, we were faced with a tall building and a ruin right outside our window. · Breakfast: The breakfast had very little variety and the quality was unacceptable. · Staff Attitude: As mentioned, some staff members were incredibly rude and insolent. · Price: Considering all these issues, the price of this hotel was extremely overpriced and completely unjustified.
Conclusion: This hotel is not worth the money you pay for it.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I strongly advise you to avoid choosing this hotel for your trip. I hope the management addresses these...

The only positive thing I can say about Shirak Hotel is that it’s located near many famous spots in Armenia, which makes sightseeing convenient. Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends.
From the moment I arrived, the experience was frustrating. The receptionist was incredibly rude and unhelpful, setting a negative tone right away. Most of the staff couldn’t speak English, which made communication almost impossible and stressful.
One of the most shocking issues was that the water completely ran out at night, and we had to wait until morning to have it back. Imagine coming back from a long day out and not even being able to shower or flush properly.
The breakfast was another major letdown—bland, boring, and looked like no effort had gone into planning the menu. It felt like they were just putting food out for the sake of it.
To make matters worse, the cleaning staff made my room’s carpet soaking wet and didn’t even attempt to dry it. Walking on a soggy carpet for hours is not pleasant. Also, they don’t provide basic amenities like free bottled water, soap, or even a toothbrush. You’d expect at least that for the price they charge.
The air conditioning barely worked, and the room stayed warm and stuffy most of the time. Overall, the hotel demands too much money for a place that clearly needs a lot of maintenance and better service.
Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I would absolutely not recommend Shirak Hotel to anyone visiting Armenia.
Also, their Wi-Fi is no...
