Went there for valentines dinner tonight, and from the moment we got to the counter a girl was giving us dirty looks, being hostile and showing nasty attitude. Decided to brush it aside, not a big deal. Throughout the whole dinner we were made to feel uncomfortable by her talking about us to other workers and glaring at us and making smart comments. Even saying “nice ass” to a coworker from across the room which is unprofessional. Found out later that she was the manager. Couldn’t believe it!! And after being nicely confronted about it, she proceeds to say that she didn’t look at us at all. We were discussing 100 options as to why she hated us that much when we’ve done nothing wrong. If you want to make good money at your restaurant, and not have to give discounts all the time, take a proper look at who you’re hiring and fire your rude managers or tell them to straighten up. That is no way to treat a paying customer, I’m utterly disgusted. I hope she was just having a bad day but it’s still no excuse because mark my words we will not be stepping foot in palazzo ever again, nor will our extended friends and community. Shame because your food was good. 1 star because the Asian guy was an...
Read moreI visit this cafe everytime I have to go into North Adelaide for specialist appointments. Trying to get a parking spot beteen 7.30am and 5pm in the area on a working day was virtually impossible, so I used to get into North Adelaide about 45mins before my appointment, firstly to find a parking spot then if time permitted, walk down to Cafe Palazzo for breakfast or just a cup of coffee. The menu is huge, and by the time you look through it all, you just can't make up your mind as to what you would like. The descriptions of the meals all look delicious. This time around I ordered a chai latte and slice of tiramisu cake for my mid morning treat. The latte was as good as always, but the tiramisu cake was to die for. When I visited, there were only a few people seated in the cafe but there have been times when the cafe was over half full and it can be quite noisy inside. So I don't know what it would be like when completely full. All in all, I would recommend Cafe Palazzo for anyone wanting a nice meal, a quick cuppa and cake, just having drinks with friends or even dropping in and getting some icecream/ gelati...
Read moreHave dined there quite a few times over the years. Always great food at reasonable prices. Lost 2 stars and respect after I thought the Entertainment Voucher on my phone had been redeemed after dining out with three friends on a Friday evening and had quite a substantial food and drink bill. I should have checked the receipt at the time but didn't until the next morning. Returned there two days later to see if I could get a refund but the two staff were dismissive and said to redeem next time I dined there. Well I won't be and neither will my friends after I said what had happened. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth and it wasn't the food.
I contacted the Entertainment Book people in Sydney and they were very helpful but said I needed to email them with the complaint. I decided not to, as although the actions of staff (these two were definately not the owners) DO reflect on the owners, I thought I'd let it rest and in future take my business somewhere else.
Hint. It doesn't take much to lose a customer or four. Maybe some customer service training for the dismissive staff may prevent further...
