Have enjoyed all the Greek cakes and biscuits I’ve bought from here. They are top notch. The Baklava, Walnut cake and Almond flake, custard slice all steeped in syrup are so good, and the biscuits are good too. Only interested that their Kourambiethes are round instead of crescent shaped, still tasty and crumbly as they should be, though. Baked eggs and beans was enjoyed with bacon and sourdough bread but some of the slices were a bit thin (guess it depends who’s cutting?). We also all enjoyed the Greek hot potato chips with oregano and feta cheese! I enjoyed my Greek style omelette but felt filling could have been a little more generous (for the price) however, the Avgolemono soup let one of our group down. While loaded with a ton of chicken, there was no sign of the egg or lemon sauce addition? So it was pretty bland. The Greek coffee at medium sweet is very good but last time our second coffees arrived cold. It happens. Guess forgot about it before they served it. The service is pretty good here, however. Not fussed on the QR code ordering when you have a few orders to put in and they forgot our juice, but they will take your order at the counter and the juice was good when it arrived, it was pretty busy after all. Plan to go here again for their range of Greek sweets and coffee (and you can order trays of them!). If I had a Yiayia I’m pretty sure this coffee would compare to hers. It’s perfect for me at medium sweet- it’s great that they check the sweetness with you first! Really good coffee in lovely, little demitasse cups. Great place to meet up with people as they’re open seven days until 4pm. And, Greek coffee on offer! And eco takeaway containers folks… they are I think,...
Read moreHad heard about this cafe for a while but only recently was I able to visit this cafe. The inside is quite spacious with seating available at the front and alongside the sidewall, all the way to the back of the place. There are tables outside the cafe (alongside Pulteney Street) as well for patrons who wish to bask in the sunshine 🌞
The coffee and the cakes were simply delicious! It was just a bit late to place an order for food as the kitchen takes the last order at 2:30 pm.
The cafe was quite busy with patrons, some of whom seemed to be regulars, some working on their laptops and quite a few walking in to place takeaway orders.
You walk up to the front counter, place your order and pay for it upfront. Simple, easy and efficient. The service was very quick and the young lady who served me was pleasant and helpful. Michele (the manager) and his staff are brilliant and friendly with their service.
Definitely a place to recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a good coffee ☕ and some delicious cakes. We had the orange 🍊 and almond cake and the walnut...
Read moreI have nothing to hold against the staff here, in fact they are very nice. But there was an option to order the food using the bar code on the table, I didn't expect a processing fee by using the App; they should put a note there to let customers know. I was too quick to confirm the order because I didn't expect this would happen.
Edit: thanks for taking the time to reply to my review while I'm in the cafe. For that I will give you an extra Star.
I apologise for occupying a 4 seater table when I'm alone with one Black coffee order. Thanks for the offer and please keep the ¢11 that the software company charged for. I have no doubt that you didn't benefit from it. I was a cafe owner before and I know some customers are hard to please. But one thing I always keep in mind is transparency, especially the price.
I was about to order breakfast when the time was up, but I decided to go elsewhere after I read your review.
Thank you again...
