Abysmal is putting it lightly.
We pre booked a table of 8 on a Saturday night for a birthday celebration, confirmed the day before. They weren't expecting us, so their booking system just doesn't work. No big deal though, they threw together some high tables and we sat down and ordered shortly after.
What followed was probably one of the worst resteraunt experiences I've ever had. It wasn't hugely busy, but meals started coming minimum 40 minutes after we ordered. The tacos were no better than overpriced food truck food, fairly bland overall. The nachos were disgusting - cold and tasteless. Drinks were average.
One couple at our table ordered a meal which after an hour of waiting were told by the server that they had sold out. They then took another 45 minutes before we asked again where the food was. We saw other people who ordered after get food during this time. Drinks also took forever, with orders missed for two of the drinks.
We then requested a refund for the food that hadn't showed up, nearly 2hrs after we arrived at the resteraunt. The manager wasn't friendly or apologetic at all, and took his time organising the refund, leaving us multiple times during the process without explanation. It felt like he really didn't care.
The serving girl was nice and seemed to be trying to do her best against an ineffectual system and crappy kitchen. Probably the only redeeming factor.
If you want terrible overpriced mexican in an average venue with terrible management and long wait times, go here. Personally, I'll be telling everyone to just...
Read moreI am shocked at the reviews to this place (the reason we went).
It is on the mezzanine of a hotel, which I wasn't aware of, and when we walked up the stairs, we were confused as there was salsa music blaring out. We sat down and tried to order quickly as we were starving. Out of the 3 wait staff that served us, none of them could hear us as the music was so loud (I am someone who loves music but this was just weird and so loud it was comical). Apparently the reason for the music being so loud is because they offer salsa dancing on a Friday and Saturday night.
We ordered quesadilla and some tacos to share.
We then waited close to an hour for our food which comes up in the lift. We had to ask 3 times how long the food would be. At one point they tried to give us someone elses food and 2 other tables that arrived after us were served before us. Two of the wait staff were snickering when we asked for the third time how long the food would be.
When the food arrived it was luke warm, hugely underseasoned and had no spice. I asked for some chillis and then when I looked back at reviews the next day saw that apparently they have a huge range of chilli sauces (not mentioned to us).
If you want to go salsa dancing, maybe...
Read moreCurrently staying at Wyndham and invited family to meet us in Mamacita for Dinner. Arrived at 5.30, not busy on arrival, ordered two drinks and asked if we could have a table for four please. Then we waited... And waited... I think the young guy who took our drinks order got sidetracked, eventually I saw him look at us, and pour a wine and beer about 15 mins later. We were then approached on two different occasions by two young female servers asking if we wanted to order and explained we were waiting for two guests and a table for four... Once seated, we ordered two more drinks, and drinks for our guests, I had to go to the Bar and remind the staff, and collect my drink, I'm happy to order at the bar, but was told it was table service... Waited to order our food, and waited and waited, someone else's food came to our table and we advised we hadn't ordered yet (hint hint) but still nothing, so we opted to go elsewhere to eat... I attempted to pay for our drinks and staff had no idea what we'd consumed, no record of it at all, luckily we're honest and paid... Barman seemed quite busy and was lovely when approached but serving staff need more training or more support because it was an uncoordinated...
