My husband and I came here last night (02/08) for our anniversary dinner.

Right off the bat we received fast service and our server, Paulo, was nothing short of attentive and considerate. He knew the menu very well and took the time to give us recommendations that he thought we would like. Seriously, his service was the reason we left the restaurant last night extremely happy and satisfied.

The atmosphere was very lively and reasonably lit, we were able to relax and settle in quickly. Decor was lovely and any complaints we had (partner said he would have liked a chair instated of a stool) were quite inconsequential because it didn't really impact our experience for the night.

We ordered the Flashy Mexican banquet, 2 margaritas and a sangria jug.

Starters came out with the Elote and Tostada de Salmon. Both were very delicious, although I thought they could have held back a bit on the seasoning for the corn (my partner said it was fine) and I was pleasantly surprised with how mild the smoked salmon on the tostada were.

For the taco portion of the banquet we ordered chilli fermented crab and carne asada. The carne asada was fantastic, the beef was soft and balanced.

There was a hiccup when we were given the second taco, we got the tomatillo pork belly instead by mistake and didn't realise until we had a bite. We brought it up to Paulo who quickly made sure that the mistake was rectified and told us that we didn't have to pay for the pork belly taco. The tomatillo pork belly was a great combination of textures and flavors, with the softness of the belly and the crunch of the crackling.

When we finally got to the chilli fermented crab it quickly became our favorite of the three tacos we had. The heat with the crab wasn't overpowering and each ingredient was given equal chance to shine.

The mains all came out together. We had the Lamb & Mezcal fajitas, Pescado Frito, Chilli Mortita Pork Ribs and Duck Ensalada. At this point the only words we used for each of those were "oh wow", "it's so good" and "wish we had more black beans". Again, the flavors were balanced and nothing overpowered each other.

Dessert was a nostalgic affair. We had the corn cake and the chilli chocolate mousse with banana cream.

The chocolate mousse was a new thing for us because of the chilli glaze. The glaze was mild and light so you'd get a bit of heat (if any) before the mousse and cream cools down your mouth.

The corn cake was a whole 'nother level. Such a simple dessert yet it was impressive. Warm, comforting and all round delicious; this is something we definitely will order again and again. My partner could easily have a large order to himself and still have room for more.

Overall, I haven't seen my partner this happy ever since he first proposed to me. We will definitely be coming back again and will also be bringing more people for...

Ordered a banquet with a friend and I have to say it was possibly the worst Mexican or even general restaurant food I have experienced . The staff were pleasant and friendly . Virtually all of the 6 dishes taste of a type of pungent burnt licorice . The other 2 main dishes ceviche had a slim texture on the palate and again putting all the small pieces on a fork stills left it horrible. , then there was a terrine serve ? 2 small very pale fillets , weren't sure if they were of fish or pork or where they originated from . Then the dessert I believed that perhaps my Mexican experiences previously were served from a Australianised version . No the fruit nachos consisted of that crap taste on the 6 or 7 small corn chips squirted with a commercial chocolate sauce and the fruit was eventually located in the west portion of the seeing dish and the fruit portion of the dish compromised of 5 or 6 manderine segments . Never have I had 8 dishes and they were increasingly more unpalatable dish by dish . The bill was $ 97 , no alcoholic drinks other than I wanted to try there white sangria . Tasted of cheap cordial or a kids birthday fruit punch made by cheap ass parents who were not willing to create something nice to drink. I actually looked over at the few dinners eating and wondered what had effected there taste buds that they could put food in there mouth and not pull faces at there partners. Its not the money Id happy pay above rates for a memorable meal , or in this case pay nearly $ 100 for the experience of not torturing myself of friends , it could have been far worse I have a birthday coming up and imagine if I'd gone ahead and booked for 12 people + therefore it was $...

I was extremely excited to come back here as my first visit in 2018 was amazing! Fast forward to 2023 as we live interstate, I was disappointed and would not go back unfortunately. Why? Let me explain.

We made a reservation and was greeted by a lady who didn't seem like she was too happy (she welcomed us with a grin that didn't seem welcoming or inviting) who then escorted us to our table. Took a while for her or anyone to come back to take our order. Mind you there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant.

We ordered tacos and remembered back in 2018, every single one we had was delicious. So we decided to do that this time round plus some other entrees.

Great Tacos: Haloumi Cheese & Barramundi Good Tacos: Cauliflower & Prawn Bad Tacos: Chicken (dry), Pork (tasted weird). Other entrees order was chicken wings and the chorizo and octopus with potatoes. Husband had one chicken wing and didn't touch the rest as it was dry.

We informed them that the chicken was dry and they said that they will give us complimentary dessert which was very nice of them but we didn't want to eat dessert. They didn't offer an alternative of a discount, which was disappointing or another solution. We appreciated the offering of dessert, but we didn't want to eat dessert as we were already full.

The staff were nice to check on progress of our meal during the seating. As we started to walk out to the exit, we could see 3 staff members not serving customers but talking amongst themselves, and not one of them said goodbye or thankyou. Just been a let down with the food and some of the service, considering we had an amazing experience a...

A reservation for a table for two turned miraculously into a shouting match across a massive table in the middle of the restaurant, flanked to the left by a very loud and lively vegetarian vs. carnivore bicker, and to the right by a not less loud party of six (snugly packed into a space for four). To make one heard was not helped by the general, fairly clamorous din. It was just after 7, so I blame sound proofing errors and not the alcohol. Food arrived on a tin tray, and since the plates that sat already in front of us were removed, we had to eat from said trays, which was hardcore prison-style (or mega hipster maybe?). Food presentation was thus somewhat "rustic", with the juices of the beef cheek (lots of fat) freely covering every part of the tray and soaking thoroughly the tacos. I couldn't decide if this was intentional or an accident. Robbed of an instagram foodporn motif, I took a snap anyway and enclose it herewith. I did enjoy the patatas bravas, hence 2 stars.
