Feel like there are still some teething issues. We booked online, and excitedly the booking said a wine tasting happening at the same time. Upon arrival, with music too loud to hear anything it took a couple of awkward attempts to confirm our booking. After being seated, and admittedly lovely setting and beautiful view to sea (sunnies on!), we were told wine tasting will come to you and order food at the bar. We didn't see any wine tasting movement happening, eventually went to the bar after a while as we waited for nonexistent wine tasting, and we ordered food and cocktail & beer. Now hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I ordered everything and confidently as it was tallied up onto EFTPOS, but the order was not confirmed back to me, and I paid but regretfully didn't get a receipt. Going back to seating, still no wine tasting even remotely close to us. Now, we ordered kingfish sashimi, and it came out exceptionally fast, eating nearly straight away. No drinks yet. Soon cocktail and beer came out, and croquettes order. These croquettes were bloody delicious on the spicy smoky capsicum. Finished my beer promptly after, and still no wine tastings happening. Our rigatoni came out, again super impressed with speed of food service. Quite nice rigatoni, but to be honest would have loved a wine with it, and at this point if I knew the wine tasting wasn't happening I would have happily ordered an accompanying wine upfront. After nearly finishing the rigatoni, decided to walk over to the presumably wine people to see if there was anything available to taste ideally with my rigatoni. Eventually got to someone and sampled a red, but it was a awkward tight shuffle past other dining folk to try and get some attention. Eventually finished rigatoni and sampled a variety of wine. We waited and waited for our chicken tenders, and eventually followed up. After a wait, we were told that the order didn't go through (hence the earlier regret of no receipt). We decided to finish up then, and on the way out I reviewed the menu, I underestimated the cost of some items which is why I didn't pick up on the chicken tenders not getting through when I paid. I'm not necessarily complaining about the prices, but am generally disappointed the chicken tenders didn't go through which I definitely asked for as part of the order. So we were effectively left unsatisfied, and cooked up some snacks at home. A frustrating experience considering...
Read moreNauti Buoy is located in a prime position near the beach , and would be wonderful for a nice brunch after a brisk walk on the beach , or a dip in the ocean in the summer months . The building is open and breezy and fits in with the area . When my friend and I came in we were seated promptly- I found the service casually friendly without being overbearing . The special coffee at the time was a Tira-moo- su - a cold brew topped with cream . What wasnât mentioned ( and a pleasant surprise) was that the cream was sweetened , and the drink actually tasted like a tiramisu. The coffee was good - slightly fruity but went well with the cream and orange zest . Definitely a highlight . I also ordered a toastie with gf bread- with Swiss cheese, provolone and homemade kimchi . The gf bread was from the local Albys , where it is celiac certified , and it was buttery , soft and crunchy - the toastie was simple , but all the ingredients were good and I throughly enjoyed it . And the side of button mushrooms were cooked well , with a delicious garlicky taste . The inside is airy and has lots of light - a little let down for me is that the music is a little loud for a proper conversation. Unfortunately it was a little too cold to sit outside though . And was a bit confused with where the menus were until we figured it out . It seems to be quite the local hangout and itâs only been around for a short amount of time , so does attest to how good the food and coffee are . Certainly a place to return for another of...
Read moreWe have dined here number of times and have always love dining here. However, with our most recent experience, it wasnât a pleasant one. We have always ordered additional toast on top of our mains which cost $3 which is perfectly fine. But with the most recent time, the one piece of toast cost $10. I understand with taking inflation all into consideration, but $10 seems very steep with just one piece of bread. I did clarify with the shop person subsequently, we were told if we ordered it as an additional side ( which we could have if it was made clear to us as we did ordered 3 other main meals) it will only cost $3. But if we order the one piece of toast on its own, it will be $10. I feel this hidden clause is not make clear to the consumer/customer at the point of order/or written clearly on the menu. If it was clear, and I still decided to go ahead with the decision of $10/piece of toast, then the decision is mine.
Just thought itâs worth sharing the unpleasant experience for...
