Zante Greek Street Food — Restaurant in Adelaide

Was recommended to eat here today so decided I would as I was mid shift and feeling peckish. It all went wrong from the very minute of trying to order the Open Yiros.

Unfortunately they had run out of meat so the lady suggested the souvlaki. I agreed as no difference in price and I wanted to eat. I also ordered the Tarama dip.

I informed them I would be seated at one of their outdoor tables. The food arrived approx 15min after ordering. Unfortunately for me they decided I was taking away as the waitress slapped down the bag on the table repeating what I had ordered.

I did not bother to complain as it really wasn't an imposition until I realised that no cutlery or napkins were provided to eat the salad with.

The food itself was fine the dip was fresh and on the money as was the pita bread. The souvlaki tasted as a traditional Greek souvlaki should do. However the pricing was more on the upper level compared to the quality and quantity.

I don't know if they are new. But I certainly wouldn't expect a business to run out of meat at around 7.45pm on a Friday night. Would have likely given four stars if it weren't for the multitude...

An absolute must if you're in the area. I give a lot of places 5 stars if I'm pleased with the experience, but Zante is a genuine 5-star. The menu is quite reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. I had the Zante lamb Yyros and my girlfriend had the chicken skewers, both of which were quite impressive. And the staff are just lovely, you certainly get the feeling that this is a family operated business, and they go above and beyond to ensure the satisfaction of their customers. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting this...

We have all had yiros before, however when you come to Zante it is taken to a whole new level. The yiros bread is delicious and the fillings are perfectly cooked from the meats to the haloumi cheese. The smell from the charcoal cooking the food is amazing getting you ready for the taste that's coming

There are many traditional Greeks deserts on offer which are as good as the main dishes. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
