My friend often orders takeout from a specific restaurant through Uber Eats. Each time, they select the “Need cutlery” option, but out of 10 orders, the restaurant fails to include cutlery in 8 of them. My friend wonders, how much could the restaurant possibly save by skipping one set of cutlery? In the past, they didn’t complain because the delivery address was at home, and they could use their own cutlery.
However, today, they ordered from this restaurant while at school, and once again, no cutlery was provided. According to Uber Eats’ rules, if the “Need cutlery” option is selected but not fulfilled, the restaurant must resolve the issue.
First, my friend called the restaurant. A female employee answered and said they wouldn’t deliver the cutlery. Instead, she told my friend to pick it up from the restaurant. But if they had time to go to the restaurant, why would they order delivery? When asked how they were supposed to eat without cutlery, the employee stayed silent for 10 minutes before hanging up.
Frustrated, my friend called the restaurant again. This time, they were told the same thing: go to the store to get the cutlery. After another prolonged silence, a male employee took over the call. He claimed they had already included the cutlery and even sent a photo as proof. However, the photo clearly showed a different order—my friend’s rice wasn’t wrapped in plastic film like in the picture. Despite providing photographic evidence of their own food, which lacked the cutlery and plastic film, the male employee still insisted the staff had included it.
Eventually, after much back and forth, the male employee admitted to the mistake but said he didn’t know how to resolve it. My friend suggested they send the cutlery, but the restaurant said it wouldn’t be possible until after closing at 9 PM. By then, the food would be cold, and my friend was already very hungry.
When my friend proposed a refund so they could order elsewhere, the male employee argued, “But you’ve already received the food.” This response left my friend speechless. Yes, they received the food—but without cutlery, it was unusable.
Now, my friend has applied for a refund but hasn’t received it yet. Overall, this was an awful experience, and my friend has decided never to order from this restaurant again. They won’t recommend it to anyone...
Read moreI often order takeout from this restaurant via Uber Eats, and every time I choose the option "Need cutlery." However, out of 10 orders, 8 times they don't provide the cutlery. I wonder how much they can possibly save by not providing one set of cutlery? In the past, I would just quietly accept it because my delivery address is at home. If the restaurant doesn't give me cutlery, I can just use my own at home. But today, I ordered takeout from this restaurant while I was at school, and they still didn't provide the cutlery. According to Uber Eats' rules, if I select "Need cutlery" and the restaurant doesn't provide it, I can contact the restaurant and have them solve the problem.
The first person who answered the phone was a female employee. She said they wouldn't bring me cutlery and if I wanted cutlery, I would have to go to the store to pick it up. But if I had the time to go to the store, why would I order delivery in the first place? I asked the female employee how I was supposed to eat, and she stayed silent for 10 minutes before hanging up.
So I called the restaurant again. I asked, "How am I supposed to eat without cutlery?" She still told me to go pick it up at the store, then remained silent. About five minutes later, a male employee answered the phone. He said they had already given me the cutlery and sent me a picture. But when I checked the picture, it wasn't from my order. My rice wasn't wrapped in plastic film, yet this male employee didn't believe me. I said I would send him a photo of my food, and it clearly didn't have the plastic film and wasn't the same order. He still insisted that his staff had provided me with cutlery, and only after a while did he say, "Alright, I understand."
Then I asked the restaurant how this issue would be resolved. I received my food but had no cutlery, and I couldn't eat it. The restaurant staff still said they didn't know what to do and remained silent. I suggested, "Then please send me the cutlery again," but they said they wouldn't be able to deliver it until after they closed, around 9 PM. I told them that was too late—the food would be cold by then, and I was already very hungry. The male employee then said, "Well, I don’t know what to do," and remained silent again. They wouldn't proactively resolve the issue.
I said, "Then I'll just ask for a refund and order from another place." The male employee immediately responded, "But you’ve already received the food." I was speechless. Yes, I received the food, but how am I supposed to eat it? Without cutlery, the food is useless to me. Now, I’ve applied for a refund, but I haven't received it yet. Overall, ordering from this restaurant has been an awful experience. I will never order from here again, and I won't recommend it to my friends either.
Read moreWent here with a group of friends. As soon as we walked in, the cups on the table were visibly dirty. We asked for new cups and was given more dirty cups.
From there, we were quite sceptical about how hygienic the food preparations were, but decided to give it a try.
Our thoughts: Cons 🙅🏻♀️ The table was sticky, cutlery and bowls were not clean. We had to buy bottled water from the fridge. Cheapened quality of meats. The meat for the cold noodle soup was gamy & unpleasant. The menu pictures are a bit misleading. Ordered the bibimbap, expecting sliced beef, but was given grounded meat.
Pros ✔️ great portions generally good service opens & closes late, good for late night cravings fast wait times
What we ordered: •bibimbap (7/10) •cold noodle soup (6/10) •boneless fried chicken (7/10) •bulgogi grill (6/10) •spicy pork grill (6/10)
If you are going to eat here, the bibimbap & fried chicken are a recommend. Also, don’t...
