As someone who works literally around the corner from this "supermarket" I can't stress how bad this place is to shop.
This has to be the worst IGA supermarket in all of Adelaide.
It is constantly understocked, even on the quietest days the shelves are bare of many popular items.
The place is always understaffed, you often have to wait a long time to be served as the single counter staff member caters to a lotteries customer or totters back from attempting to stock an entire bare shelf with a half-empty box of goods.
You would think a lack of products on the shelves and poor service would be bad enough, but compounding the terrible experience here is the exorbitant prices clearly designed to gouge the captive audience of the south end of the CBD who have no other options in the area.
I will make it my goal to never spend another dollar in this supermarket again.
It is an absolute joke of a business and I will be voting with my feet to walk straight past it to go to Coles in the Central Markets.
The business owner should know how the general public view this supermarket and how poorly it reflects on the IGA company as a brand.
I honestly avoid IGAs as a general rule now based on my experience...
Read moreALWAYS ASK FOR A RECEIPT BEFORE YOU PURCHASE! I I bought a bunch of items there. At the check out the staff member seemed very confused, and actually scanned a few of the items a second time (I presumed, because they hadn't scanned properly the first time).
On the way out the door, I thought to myself "Hang on! I think they charged me about $10 more than I expected!" So I reached for the receipt, so I could check - realised she had neglected to give me one. Rushed back, asked if she could print it out for me.
She tapped away on the register for while, still looking confused, then said "sorry! I can't find it on the system." So I will never know for sure if I was ripped off $10 (though I strongly suspect it).
What we do know for sure is either (1) staff are very inexperienced and poorly trained, or (2) their Point Of Sale equipment is rubbish.
Lesson learnt. Always ask for a receipt FIRST...
Read moreI work nearby this IGA and I’m no longer going to support this place!! Management has gone downhill since around the end of last year. New male manager (or owner?) is rude and doesn’t help when the cashiers are clearly struggling serving everyone by themselves. I’ve been told the reps have not being paid and that’s why there is no stock on the shelves! I think the owner forced the old managers out but he clearly can’t manage this store on his own.
This IGA used to have some of the best customer service, and now everyone seems sad and overworked, I feel so bad for the staff stuck working in such a poorly run IGA. Numerous regular employees are no longer there and when I asked where they’re gone I’ve been told they have quit. I unfortunately will no longer be supporting this IGA unless I see an improvement...
