Very rude staff. If you are black don’t go. They only welcome white. Food is nice but they destroyed our morning by giving bad attitude.
P.S. this is a reply to your reply on my comment. We sat down later. They show us attitude way before that. Your staff was rude to us in the beginning. While we are waiting the guy with long hair asked us to go outside in very rude way. I know you don’t have enough space at busy time. But there is a way that you should talk to a customer. That’s the first we felt uncomfortable. After that we moved little bit as we felt he is not welcoming us. Then two ladies get up so we two girls sat for a while until we get the order. Then asked our boys to ask staff make it take away. Again staff girl was angry when we ask that. So we went out and stand until they give us our order. If they say they were upset because we sat down they could tell us. But we felt their attitude from the beginning not...
Read moreRolling down the Great Ocean Road in a van, I pulled into Le Comptoir for brunch and to do my tax— a horrible task, made very glamorous by this effortlessly chic slice of France by the coast. Greeted by many handsome Frenchmen (always a plus), I settled in with the Salmon Gravlax, which was fresh, balanced, and beautifully plated. The shift in hospitality is clear here—less about endless customisations, more about trusting the experts. The nine milk options I used to have? Not here. They have one, and they make it work. It’s a welcome return to hospitality done right, small curated menus. I wrapped up with an escargot pastry and a long black, watching Italian groups and French couples enjoy bottles of wine at 11:30 AM on a Tuesday—peak European energy. The ambience? 10/10. The service? Warm, efficient, and charmingly laissez-faire. Would I come back? Absolutely. If you’re heading down the coast, Le Comptoir is...
Read moreHad the most fantastic cullinary experience for my Birthday at Le Comptoir. We were greeted by delightful staff and Yuri was an exceptional host and Maitre De. Food and courses were superb, almost bringing back the quintessensial Feeling of Dining in a Fancy Parisien Restaraunt but with the beautifal back drop of The Aireys Light House, Blue Oceans and Sky. Entrees, Aperitifs, Mains and accompniants were delectable. Only took of a star for service due to an unfortunate delay with the Baguettes with the Chicoutary selection and also not getting the Gravalax as an entree. Many Stand out Dishes, great atmosphere but perhaps a little cramped for the table setting. The Filet de Pork, Quiche and Beef, Rosbif, along with the deserts, Lava Cake and wine selection were a real standout Highly, or most positively recommend to a visit to this fine establishment. Beautiful unpretentious Food at its best, Do...
