While looking for a restaurant for my wife's birthday dinner, I came across this place.
Santara serves Indian fusion dishes which are truly flavour bombs. The interior decor is reminiscent of the Greek islands, the venue is cozy giving it an exclusive vibe.
There was one person running the show and she did an amazing job. She took orders, made cocktails, served dishes and operated the POS, after our meal we chatted for a bit,she is a mother to a 7 year old - Super mum!
We ordered pork momos, pani puri, harissa lamb, rockling curry, with a side of brocollini, deep fried king oyster mushrooms and black garlic naan for dessert we ordered the sticky ginger pudding. All dishes were flavour bombs, we especially liked the pani puri and oyster mushrooms.
The cocktails were also very unique, we ordered Chai-tini (chai espresso martini) and the Masala sunrise.
Overall we were very happy with spending the night out here. Highly recommend trying this place out on your next visit to the...
Read moreVery very disappointed with our dinner here. Started off well with the peri peri paneer and the haloumi but the samosa was terrible. Flat and soggy with minimal filling. The lamb vindaloo was woeful. Have never had an Indian dish with less flavour, it was watery and bland like it had been watered down. We enjoyed the basmati rice more. The black garlic naan was spread like Vegemite on the bread and was incredibly sour and dry. My partner and I always endeavour to leave a good review or give feedback to show support for businesses but we left feeling so disappointed I felt the need to leave a review for some much needed feedback/improvement. Prices were steep for what you get. On a positive note the gentleman serving us was very attentive...
Read moreabsolutely love this hidden gem at the Sunnymead Hotel. The food is incredible—Indian fusion at its best! It’s so hard not to order everything on the menu. The sweet potato samosas are exquisite, and the Chicken Curry is seriously addictive. We also tried the Fish Curry and Lamb Cutlets—everything was superb.
What makes it even better is that they use local produce. Ellie, who’s looked after us both times, is such a delight. The wine list may be small, but it packs a punch. Even my mum, who isn’t usually a fan of Indian food, absolutely loved it! Highly recommend both staying at the revamped Hotel and dining in at Santara! A wonderful new treat on the...
