Beagles Pizza — Restaurant in Airlie Beach

We returned from a few days on the water completely wiped out on a Sunday afternoon. After cleaning up and a short catnap, it was somehow Sunday night, and a few places we'd planned on trying already had closed kitchens. So, we decided to walk the strip in Airlie Beach for something that we could take away. Luckily, we caught Beagles just before their 9pm closing time on Sunday.

We got a large cheese pizza, which ended up being super cheap (only $10!). It was piping hot, so we walked back to our Airbnb before trying to eat it. When we opened the box, we were supposed by the appearance of our pie: it looked a bit... well done (check the picture if you're curious). That said, we were starving, so we ate it anyways. While the cheese was a bit crispy, it still tasted pretty good. We'd gotten a thin crust pizza and I was glad we did.

If you're against crispier cheese, it may be worth asking about how the pizza is cooked; if you're ok with it, though, it was a pretty tasty pie and...

Really disappointed in the pizzas. The seafood pizza was the cheapest tasting pizza I've had outside of the mini pizzas they serve at school. They clearly used the cheapest marinara mix from the deli at Woolies/Coles because that's what it smelled and tasted like. Tiny pieces of seafood, not like the other pictures I've seen in reviews. The meat pizza was ok but again, clearly using very cheap ingredients reminiscent of school pizzas. The garlic bread was disappointing as well, I had a bite of it first and thought it wasn't great but little did I know the rest of it was even more disappointing

To top that all off we ordered a lift and they gave us an off brand pub squash instead of the lift that was ordered, and were 20 minutes late (ordered online).

It's as if they ran out of their normal ingredients and went to the shops and bought the cheapest stuff there to make up for it. Will...
