Usually I love coming to this place and unfortunately it wasn’t great this time. I in particular was disappointed however, the others who came along with me for the first time to try this restaurant was as disappointed as I was. I understand how restaurants are evolving with using QR codes to order dishes, etc to ease the waitresses, however, this situation was different - everyone around us got served although we were a big group seated in the middle of the restaurant. I watched as others came in and get served before us too. I’d be lying if I said there was a waitress come to us to take our order but, unfortunately we never got served. I eventually walked up to one of the waitresses for water since we came to a conclusion that we weren’t getting served any time soon. I also felt that she’d completely ignored my one request and forgot the water too. We had to ask another waitress for some water and it took quite a while for us to receive some. On top of that, we’d decided to order food on the QR code..and although the food was not bad, we had two dishes come in about nearly an hour later, then we’d waited about nearly 20 minutes to receive the other half of the dishes. By this time the food had gone cold. Trust me, the food itself was not bad, but I’d had better there. Regarding the atmosphere, I knew what to expect with the smell of kbbq lingering around even after the restaurant, though I think that insulation is a big part of Korean Barbecue - it felt a little suffocating inside and my eyes burned a little over 30 minutes after. Even after a year of re-opening and introducing KBBQ in this restaurant, nothing seems to have been done with this. Needless to say, we’d made a booking hoping for a nice dinner and yet ended up disappointed in the end. After spending quite a bit of money, the meat to rice and vegetable ratio was also questionable. The dishes was filled with carrots and lettuce. And it was utterly disappointing as by the time the other half of our dishes came out, the first ones that did were already cold. We felt unseen and disregarded and avoided by the waitresses and although I would love to come back to this restaurant as I haven’t been disappointed as I was tonight..I think I’ll stay away for a while. The lack of friendly customer service provided the other times I’ve come here was probably due to the understaffed condition but as I said, it was a little confusing as everybody around us got served and yet we didn’t. The nice lady who did eventually come up to us about 30-45 minutes later came up to us to check if we needed to order and also checked with us to see if our order was correct...

I had a deeply disappointing experience at this BBQ restaurant in Airlie Beach, and I feel it’s important to share it so others can make an informed decision.
The restaurant promotes a $59 “all-you-can-eat BBQ,” and we were told that after finishing the initial platter, we could request more of any meat we liked. But once we finished the first round, we were suddenly informed that several types of meat—including the ones we were most interested in—weren’t actually included. This was never clearly explained beforehand.
We asked the staff what was going on, but the woman who seemed to be managing the restaurant that day was completely unresponsive. She left us standing there waiting for a very long time, without giving any explanation or trying to resolve the issue. It felt like she was deliberately avoiding us.
Eventually, we asked to speak with the owner. After a long wait, the call finally connected—but instead of helping, the owner immediately started yelling. He called us names like “psycho,” accused us of “trying to cause trouble,” and even said, “if you can’t afford it, don’t come.” He kept cutting us off and hung up in the middle of the conversation.
We tried calling again later, hoping to find some resolution, but the same thing happened. The owner was hostile and dismissive, and once again ended the call abruptly.
One of the regular staff members did eventually try to assist and suggested charging us separately for the meat, but even then, they couldn’t provide a clear price. In the end, we were given just a $9 discount, despite barely eating anything beyond the initial platter.
Personally, I left feeling shocked and upset. The way we were treated—not only by the owner, but also by the manager on duty—was incredibly disheartening. Our entire evening and mood were ruined by this experience. I’ve never felt so disrespected in a restaurant before.
On top of that, the food quality was poor—the chicken tasted noticeably sour, and the ingredients didn’t seem fresh at all.
I would strongly advise others to think carefully before...
Read moreThe owner of this restaurant called me “psycho”, accused me of “looking for trouble” and said “if you can’t afford it, don’t come”—all just because I raised a complaint. I came here because they advertised “all-you-can-eat BBQ for $59 per person”, and the staff told us we could order any meat we liked after finishing the BBQ platter they first served. However, once we finished the platter, we found out that the meats we most wanted were actually not available for order. We asked the staff for clarification, but they insisted that they had already told us those specific meats were not included—which they absolutely hadn’t. Left with no choice, we asked to speak to the owner. After waiting for dozens of minutes, the call finally went through. Instead of apologizing, the owner immediately started shouting, accusing us of being poor and trying to take advantage of them. He repeatedly interrupted us, and after calling us “psycho”, he hung up the phone. (My friend can testify to this.) We were shocked and deeply upset. But since we’re just students and afraid of retaliation, we reluctantly tried again to reason with the owner. After waiting nearly 40 more minutes, the second call went through. We even started by apologizing, trying to de-escalate the situation. But the owner angrily said, “Now you apologize? Do you know how hard I work?” and so on. Again, he refused to listen, and hung up on us a second time. After this, one staff member did try to understand our side and suggested we pay separately for the meats we had ordered. But when we asked for prices, they admitted there was no clear pricing for each type of meat. In the end, after talking to the boss, they only gave us a $9 discount, even though we barely ate anything. This experience completely ruined our trip and our mood. I suffer from depression, and I cried for a long time afterward. I’m writing this review seriously, hoping that others will think twice before coming to this restaurant. Thank you. (btw, chicken meat...
