We came In a group of 5 , strictly came for the all you can eat option.
I decided to wash my hands before I had my meal and there was no soap In the men's washroom. It hapones, I politely reminded the gentlemen at the cash register.
Our waiter was great.
I really don't know where to start. We got to be establishment at 8 pm.it closes at 10 Food was brought, first we had uncooked chicken , it happens. Then when we asked for it cooked they had no more. After getting 1 round of everything once. We liked a few options the peppermint beef and salt pepper wings. Nothing really tasted that good. We kept asking for more garlic bread and salad And it was constantly forgotten.Turns out , they didn't have have any peppermint beef ready either and that it would take 30 minutes. So they declined to prepare the meal. That was odd. So we ordered more salt pepper wings after our second batch they ran out of wings as well. Were still not full so we decide to order the pineapple and I'm not joking , when the waiter came he goes this is the last of them. And then he goes that they're wrapping up at 9:30 and that would be it for us .
I'm at a loss of words. Yes I eat out a lot, and yes I have eaten all over the world. But to advertise as an all you can eat establishment and run out of multiple items in one night is not professional.
So the kicker is this , I go back to wash my hands from all the grease in the men's bathroom and it doesn't have any soap. I go back outside to the same gentlemen and he goes we have no soap what do you want me to do. And I go well it's a restaurant everyone should be washing their hands here. Then he goes, does the women bathroom have any soap and he goes have a look yourself. I wasn't gonna get set up by me getting caught in a women's bathroom. So I was like if u open the door and make sure it's not In use. It wasn't , I washed my hands.
Before choosing this place I would definitely ask if they can actually accomadate your feeding needs and make sure they don't make you feel rushed.
Maybe it was a bad night and it happens. But owning up to the disappointments and showing some sort of integrity would have been a lot more...
Read moreMika Ali is a good place to dine if you like your grilled meat and diverse selection of cocktail drinks. The edibles were great, the atmosphere is a little too loud but it was negligible due to “ok” soundproofing, however, the quality of service has lots of room for improvement.
FOOD: Hands down, the food was great and the drinks were very good. We ordered a meat platter which came with grilled pineapple, chicken wings, pork belly, three different set of steaks flavored: Mustard, Salty and BBQ. The BBQ flavored steak was a little too saucy that it came across quite strong. The guac had a good flavor but the quantity is too small for three people. We also ordered a bowl of melted cheese garlic bread, each slice was at least 2cm thick and was overflowing with cheese and garlic. Despite the small amount of the guacamole, there was more than enough food for three people so we asked for a takeaway container which the wait staff gladly and swiftly brought to us.
SERVICE: On their website, it says that their closing time on the night of our visit was 10pm. We walked in just a few minutes before 8pm and we were told that the kitchen closes in just a couple of minutes. We appreciate the subtle prompt so we ordered our food as soon as we could. By 9pm, however, one of the waitresses asked us if she could clear any of our plates, when clearly, we were still eating. Although the waitress tried to ask nicely, we felt rushed. Looking back, when we got in, the place was full. But by 9pm (one hour BEFORE the closing time stipulated on their website), when we looked around, everybody else seemed to have been kicked out so when the waitress hinted by asking if she could clear our plates, we felt pressured to leave. I hope the owner will take note of this review and realize that more revenue could have been made if only the restaurant stayed open for another hour, as stipulated on...
Read moreRang and booked a table for 10 people at Mikas for tonight. They advised me that they require a reservation deposit. Thinking that it would only be $50 at the very most I agreed and provided my card details.
They actually withdrew $101.80 from my account before we had even attended. Did not realise this until we had eaten our meals and went to pay. I checked my account prior to paying the account and was gobsmacked by the amount they had already debited from my account.
When we paid the bill they then proceeded to tell me they couldn’t credit the $101.80 they had previously taken from my account until I had paid the full meal cost which was $170.00 (for three people) After paying another $170 for our meals they gave me $100 in cash back.
Definitely will not be returning, terrible table service and the staff at the counter were rude.
Received a telephone call from Mikas after I left and I have to say I am even more disappointed. The fellow who called wouldn’t allow me to speak until after I asked him to allow me to voice my opinion. I advised him that I was disgusted in the dollar amount they charge for a reservation and that they did not advise how much this would be when I made it and also advised him he had well overcharged me for the meals and drinks we had. (I did not realise this until I got home) I asked him to email a copy of the receipt but he proceeded to tell me he doesn’t have email. He offered to pay back the $1.80 but if I want the receipts I will have to come back and...
