I'm sorry to say that our recent experience at the Green Coast café in Ballina was far from satisfactory. We've visited this place a few times before and had a regular, if not memorable, experience. However, our latest visit has left a bitter taste, and not just from the coffee.
We decided to order two takeaway coffees, expecting a quick service considering the café was not particularly busy at the time. To our surprise, we ended up waiting for over 10 minutes. This might not seem like a long time, but when you're standing there with nothing else to do, it feels like an eternity.
The long wait might have been forgivable if the order had been correct. Unfortunately, they got one of the coffees completely wrong.
The worst part of the experience, however, was the extremely rude barista. We understand that everyone can have a bad day, but her behaviour was completely unacceptable. We could have overlooked a wrong and subpar coffee, but the rudeness we encountered was the final straw.
In the service industry, the way you treat your customers can make or break your business. Unfortunately, based on our recent experience, this café seems to have forgotten that. After this incident, we won't be returning.
I'm giving this café a 2-star rating, not because of the long wait or the incorrect order, but because of the unacceptable behaviour of the staff. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make necessary improvements in their...
Read moreANZAC DAY. The management here are rude and disgusting. Placed our order, paid and proceeded to wait at our table which was filthy. Expected that the staff would clean it down. Nope, did that myself. All good. Whilst waiting, 3 very elderly diggers asked to sit at our table. With not enough room for 5, I gladly gave them our table and tried to approach staff to advise we had moved tables. First staff member snapped at me saying, âthis is a clean table, we are closedâ turned on her heels and kept walking. I go up to the counter and again before even getting a word out, was rudely told âWe are closedâ. I politely explained what I needed to tell then. I got a disbelieving attitude questioning me on what I ordered. Once it was confirmed by other staff, i was told it had to be takeaway (so i wouldnt mess up their just cleaned tables I assume). I get they have a cut off order time so that they can close on time but this was horrendous. I had ordered. No doubt the manager(s) would prefer i spoke to them directly HOWEVER given i was not given the opportunity to speak not once but twice, you get the same. Some hot tips- 1. Chefs are gold, treat them very well. 2. Customers are your bread and butter, treat them well. 3. Front of house Staff are good people trying to earn a bob with great attitudes ruined by...
Read moreFood was good but was brought to us in cardboard take away containers. Was delivered with an apology for the take away containers but no explanation. My husband had eggs benedict in a rectangular container not much bigger than the piece of toast. I had a burger and it was like at mcdonalds .It was around 1pm and about two other tables had customers. I then noticed other customers getting their food on china plates so asked the guy delivering the food why we got cardboard. He answered that they had run out of plates temporarily. As I said they were not busy and this was an obvious lie..i suspect they just thought it easier as they were closing in an hour. Of all the places in town we could of gone we chose there as I have been there heaps of times for coffee /morning tea and a couple of times for breakfast. Dissapointed and I will probably go somewhere else for a while. Left a bad taste in my mouth About a month later...had breakfast at Shelley Beach cafe this morning. Right on the beach I had eggs Benedict on a real china plate for the same price with tomatoes and spinach for the same money as they charge at green coast cafe. Obviously green coast don't check their reviews ..can't see them surviving in...
