We recently dined at the Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Cafe in Bassendean, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our visit was memorable.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including Maggie Goreng, Mamak Mee Goreng, Roti Banjir, Nasi Lemak with Goat Curry, Char Kueh Teow, and Roti Kaya, along with drinks like hot Teh Tarik and Sirap Ice. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic Malaysian flavors that transported us straight to the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur.
The Maggie Goreng and Mamak Mee Goreng were perfectly spiced and incredibly satisfying. The Roti Banjir was a comforting blend of textures and flavors, while the Nasi Lemak with Goat Curry was rich and beautifully presented. The Char Kueh Teow had that unmistakable smoky "wok hei" flavor, and the Roti Kaya was a delightful way to end the meal on a sweet note.
The Teh Tarik was expertly brewed—smooth, frothy, and just the right amount of sweetness—and the Sirap Ice was refreshingly vibrant.
We highly recommend Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Cafe for anyone craving authentic Malaysian cuisine. The food, service, and overall experience were fantastic. We’ll definitely be returning to try more of their...
Read moreAs a fellow malaysian, i think the food was really great and authentic and was the salvation from a harsh and destructive review. Not a fan of the new shop and certainly overshadowed by its former glory in leederville. The bassendean shop clearly paints a picture of acopia with lack of manpower and inexperienced waiting staff. I waited 45 minutes before being served my first dish. Total time I spent in the shop is close to 1.5 hours from start to finish when the intention is to grab a quick dinner and return to the comforts of home. What I observed was despite the growing pressure , short staffing and sheer unhappiness and long waiting times for the patrons dining in, they still cater for delivery services and clearly prioritising them (in my opinion to maintain a good rating with delivery services), they have sacrificed the service they provide for those dining in, resulting in longer than usual waiting time.
Unless this changes, I do not foresee longevity...
Read moreFirst and last time here. Came with a young family and noticed many people waiting. Close to an hour wait and we got the otak which was burnt. Everyone else who ordered before us plus more takeaways have received their order. Requested a refund and was still told food in the making. Walked out with our refund and crying toddler who was very hungry by then.
(Appreciate the prompt response and apology - if you have time to respond during business hours, shouldn't this be best serving customers. And thanks for clarifying the time stamp. You do realise 30 mins is still a long wait for children waiting for their roti. Which you mentioned will only be out 10 mins after (so 40 minutes in total. And don't blame us re wastage. As you mentioned you have lots of takeaway orders. And re supplier. I understand it may not be fresh but we asked for it to be replaced but yet the next table was served theirs first. We hope you do improve but unfortunately we will not...
