Wear thermals if you intend to dine here in the winter months! I wasn't aware there seating was outdoors only. I thought had worn adequate layers just in case, how wrong I was. Being seated in the shade & with a freezing breeze ripping through it was horribly uncomfortable. Not just me being dramatic as I noticed other patrons sitting hugging themselves / pulling jumpers up over their faces & visibly freezing. I strongly feel that the cafe needs to invest in some sort of clear screening or other windbreak solution and/or a few outdoor gas heaters for the sake of its customers comfortability. I found my meal (loaded smashed avo) to be slightly underwhelming in size. 17 out of the 20 menu choices include eggs or "eggs your way" but the cafe doesn't do scrambled eggs. We made a request to change our 2 meals from poached eggs to fried & flipped which was noted at the register but then both came out without the change made. The food and coffee was nice but due to cold wind both stone cold in a matter of about 2 minutes. I was overcharged by a few dollars, the receipt given wasn't not itemised so didn't realise until getting home it seems I was charged for a similar but dearer "Avocado stack". Lovely friendly customer service from all staff but unfortunately due to the uncomfortable atmosphere I likely wouldn't return, at least...
Read moreA very disappointing experience I had at your cafe today. Despite the advertised "Well toasted bread" on the menu, what I received was far from that. The bread was barely toasted, looking more like raw, the little bit color is from the capsicum on the side Additionally, the bowl of chips we received was subpar. They appeared to have been refried multiple times, leaving me with the impression that even McDonald's chips might have been a better option. This was particularly disappointing considering the 25% surcharge applied on public holidays. Given that the cafe was not busy at the time, it is hard to justify such a poor level of quality. I am 100% sure that you guys don't pay to your chef/staff anything extra on public holidays for sure, it was such a terrible experience. I regret wasting my hard-earned $72 on this experience. I will be sharing my experience with others, as I believe in honest feedback and expect higher standards from a place charging premium prices. I also find it questionable how the Adonis café in the city achieves its 5-star ratings. It seems these ratings are incentivized by offering discounts for 5-star positive reviews and get 5%/10% discount. Such practices, if true, are misleading and unfair to customers seeking genuine...
Read moreThe atmosphere and staff upon arrival was great, we were greeted with very friendly staff and the food came out quickly despite being extremely busy.
We ordered a cappuccino on soy, a regular cappuccino, eggs your way (poached) and the loaded smashed avo with a hashbrown.
Unfortunately the cappuccino on soy was extremely weak, to the taste of warm milk. The regular cappuccino was not much better, but this time burnt. The soy cap was left almost full. The coffees were a little disappointing after hearing such great reviews.
As for the food, the food was actually quite delicious, the presentation was lovely. I am not a picky eater so it didn't bother me as much, but the eggs for both our meals were overdone, the eggs were not runny at all, which was also a little disappointing.
Overall I liked the vibes, the atmosphere, the staff and for the most part the food. The venue was great, and our experience was likely due to a very busy Saturday so I'm sure it's not like this always. There were just a few points that weren't amazing, especially the coffee.
I'd most likely come back, however it would be just for a takeaway coffee to see if there were any improvements before committing to...
