B Happy Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Use to love coming here with my partner as we enjoyed their nice sashimi hand rolls but unfortunately it took one day to put us off from the place. We were given soy sauce as we sat down and my partner poured us each a serving and was found to have a small insect inside. When we told the counter lady there, she didn’t check properly to see it was a bug but instead insisted it was a natural ingredient from when they homemade it. I would’ve brushed it off as an unlucky incident but when she didn’t check properly and insisted it wasn’t an insect, it killed our appetite. When inspected by the sushi chef and another female staff, they realised it was an insect and said they didn’t ‘know in’ korean. Also did not give an apology but went off to do their tasks. Was asked if we wanted more soy sauce but at that point we wanted to leave and paid for our meal. An apology would’ve helped bring us back but we will not be coming anymore...

Friday night, 18th Nov 2022. Came in and asked for a table of 1, got seated immediately at the front, I must’ve come just in time because pretty much everyone else that came in after were told that the place was closed, to be fair I did come in just under an hour before close. I got hot green tea, 3 plates of sushi and forgot I had ordered Edamame so I kept telling them it wasn’t mine before I double checked what I ordered 😅 sorry Miss, that was my bad 😅 I asked the waiter if the hot green tea was bottomless and appreciate that he asked what that meant rather than just telling me yes yes so I order it. So, service 10/10, food 6/10 could use some sauce 😅...

Thought this place would’ve been nice as i’ve seen people come in and out, i came in last thursday and had a raw kingfish OR scallop nigiri and a raw salmon roll (found a bone in it), afterwards i was experiencing bad stomach pains for 4 days. Today i found out that i have food poisoning. Please be careful.

Edit: Response to the owner, i said kingfish OR scallop. Not sure what was on the nigiri but it was a white raw seafood. Your restaurant was also hot, no air conditioning, and that probably caused the raw fish that i ate to go bad as it’s sitting out...
