Went in to order a quick takeaway curry back in Feb2017. Waited at counter for a couple of minutes in an almost empty restaurant before someone came to the counter and said "yes", like I had interrupted something. Ordered a green curry and was given a ticket. Waited out by the door for about 20min before I realised nobody was actually calling out or bringing out the take away orders. I had to guess when my order would be ready and go in and ask. So I realised that my curry was just sitting on the bench for most of that 20min wait. Meanwhile I'm watching some waitress? waltz in and out of the kitchen with food, wearing a sloppy singlet shorts and thongs. I thought this was a restaurant, not someone's backyard kitchen. I'm not sure how this floats in workplace health and safety? Anyways the curry, well it was average at absolute best. Nothing authentic or memorable about it. Just relieved the next day to not wake up ill. Yesterday I returned after eating elsewhere, only stopping in at the request of someone else who just wanted a cheap takeout meal to take home. There was only 2people settling in to eat, I stood at the counter ready to order, for easily 3-4min. During this time a guy who I assumed worked there, walked past me 6 times in total, not once even acknowledging me standing there. During the time I spent waiting I looked into the kitchen prep area. It would've been just after 5pm so there'd been time between any kind of lunch service and then to clean and prep for evening service. There was food scraps and gunk all over the floor and under prep surfaces (and this was the visible area). By this stage I was getting pretty irritated so I walked out. The food would have to be amazing to put up with such crap service and a sketchy looking kitchen. Walked a few doors up to be warmly greeted by a staff member at another restaurant, the dishes were about $5 more, which I was more than happy to chip in for on principal alone. The feedback on the food indicates I made the right choice to go elsewhere. Standards tend to be a bit more loose around Sunnybank, and most of us can handle a bit more of a relaxed situation when the food is authentic and awesome. But when you can't even acknowledge a customer, wear shoes when serving food, or even make decent food, you don't deserve a...
Read moreYesterday 23/11/17 we ate at ithai restaurant market square. We ordered 4 dishes, 3 came within 20mins of wait time. Another 15mins later my 4th dish still hasn’t arrived. A waiter came to our table with a dish that I didn’t order. I said to him I didn’t order that, I ordered “pointing at my receipt showing him the name of the food”, his response was Okkkkk... I thought hmmm, gave him five mins hoping he would come back with my order and yet still nothing. So I went up to the counter where a lady was in charge, I asked her how long till I get my 4th dish again showing her the receipt of what it is letting her know that we have been waiting for it for ages and the rest of our meals are almost gone and it still hasn’t arrived, she blubbered something which I could not understand. Anyway got my meal another five mins later which did not match the picture on the menu, tasted bland. There were four Asian customers, should I say 6 sat next to us and two of them are dogs which they held In their arms, looking at us to see how we would react. My husband kindly ask them to put the dog down as it’s sitting on her lap being so close to us with food on our table. I’ve got nothing against dogs but these two ladies were so bitchy and thinking they own the place they can just bring their dog there while they eat. It turned into an argument as we are certain you cannot bring a dog to a restaurant (unless it’s a guide dog)sitting on your lap being tables are so close together, I asked if they were allowed and she said yes we are, she stated that they go there all the time and that they know the owner. I was appalled at their behaviour when questioned and they ended up moving to another table with an assaulting comment to us that their dog is cleaner than us. Food and Safety obviously doesn’t apply in this establishment. I wouldn’t dare eat there again. I’ve made a comment on their fb page, I was blocked after it. Guess they don’t want people to know their...
Read moreDear Gentle Readers, As a family with a toddler, who had been at this iThai restaurant on several occasions before, we have noticed very unfriendly and least caring behaviour towards the customers. To top this, this time we were treated as if prohibited from dining in. The staff( especially TWO GIRLS at the counter, one with glasses and both short hair - they denied sharing their names when asked and said WE DON’T HAVE NAMES! We are ALL STAFF - though the boys who serve are much composed and don’t show their temper from what we’ve noticed). Right from the start from getting a table inside, to ordering our food, their vibe was with such animosity & despise, like they were serving us for free! One of the two foods we had ordered hadn’t arrived even after 30mins despite others around us who arrived later having got theirs! When asked one of the girls, she didn’t respond, came back with the fried rice and flung the plate on the table! Others around us were as astounded as us! That’s not even an exaggeration! We remained silent. After the supposed to be a pleasant dinner turned into an unpleasant one, we asked the girl, why they were so rude to us, & her response was, you can speak with the owner! She wrote the number of someone called Leo and gave it and remaining hostile throughout! I still politely asked her why can’t there be some kindness or compassion & basic customer service? She said she found us rude by asking for the food that was past the wait time and hence she was RUDE in return! If that’s the kind of customer service they provide, their food which is good will have to be overlooked and the whole experience has made us decide not to go back there ever! After all, eating a good dinner needn’t be traded with forgoing one’s self...
