Been wanting to visit Blue Bear for a while and finally had the chance to dine here. And it was such an amazing dining experience.
I grabbed their Loaded Croissant with a long black while my boyfriend ordered their Bearâs Breakfast and a soy flat white.
Starting with my meal, there were quite a few things I was really impressed with. First of all, the size of the dish was more than enough for one person, especially if you are not a big eater. Both dishes came in a good portion for a reasonable price. Another point was the display of my dish, I thought it was rather inviting and beautifully executed. Fell in love the second I lay my eye on it. As shown in the pics, the croissant on the left hand side was piled up with flavorful pulled pork, which was topped with two poached eggs. The croissant was soft and soaked up the juices of the meat; while the pulled pork was tender and smoky and had a bit of char here and there, which we really appreciated and thought it was a nice touch. It was easy to cut through and not overly greasy. The eggs were poached just right and we really loved the consistency of the yolks. The halloumi on the side was creamy and delicious. The pickled onion went really well with the fresh rocket leaves and contradicted the greasiness from the croissant, which offered a hint of freshness to the whole dish. I especially LOVED their tomato relish, which was out of this planet. It came with every dish and really elevated the quality and diversity of the dish. It was tangy and sweet and rather addictive. It could go with anything. As for the dressing, we figured it could be aioli, which complimented the croissant and meat.
As for the big breakfast, my partner wanted their sausages on the side but unfortunately they didnât have any, which was a bit disappointing but it is not to deny how delicious the dish was. He ended up getting some salmon instead. The brioche was beautifully toasted and caramelized. It was crunchy on the edge but tender and buttery on the inside. The salmon was tasty and woke up my taste buds on the first bite. The hash browns were crispy and seasoned nicely.
Coffee wise, I thought the long black was rich and refreshing and the soy flat white was creamy and tasty. We both loved the soy milk they used.
The service was also brilliant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The nice lady who served us was wearing a big and bright smile whenever interacting with us, which we really appreciated. The whole experience absolutely made my day and it is no doubt that we will come back again. It was worth every dollar spent. Thanks so much for the satisfying experience.
A little update on the review. Yes, we came back! Still as amazing as the first time and we ordered different things this time as shown in the last two pics. Waffle Benny and Brisket Croissant. Both were divine. Thanks again for the lovely experience. One of our fave cafes...

The minute we arrived there was no shortage of warm welcomes. Greeted instantly and shown to our table (there is also tables around the back) however we were given the rockstar front table. Kerbside overlooking the roundabout there it was lovely and cool, which was a nice surprise considering itâs a melting 36 degrees.
The coffee came out quickly, with a smile after the ice chilled water as did the danish for the âdessert firstâ we thought needed a new home in our bellies!
By the time weâd finished our coffees the meal was out, and the team were quick to offer a second of their delicious bean brew.
THE MEALS I donât know what happened in that kitchen but itâs definitely a lot more magic than what happens in mine. The food was cooked to perfection, as it was meticulous plated. Literally the only thing that I could find to fault was the garnish. Didnât love it but didnât hate it enough to not eat it. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the last time I ate hollandaise I loved was about an hour ago. Prior to date was about 1992.
If there was an award for hollandaise, ladies and gentlemen please be upstanding for the winner! Blue Bear Coffee (& Wine) House.
I get the feeling the team know what they are doing from the start to finish. My belly...
Read moreIt's a popular place, so you're going to wait. No dramas there - people want to go where good food is. Sadly, the food here doesn't carry the very ordinary service; it's quantity over quality in every sense of the word, but they can't even churn out service quickly.
Despite 6 FoH staff on a Sunday, it was a long process to be seated then order and be served. A few counter staff prioritised talking with kitchen staff over taking orders, which isn't great when the line is 10 pax long. The register staff seemed to have to confer with what I assume was the owner every time an order was placed, with a laptop next to the POS needing to be stared at for a while.
My food was okay, with low flavouring on the chicken and the sweet waffles had crystallised sugar (that I suspect were the supermarket ones) not working well with the split and sparse hollandaise. Generous portions, to be sure, but again, I'll take quality over quantity.
The coffee was burnt, presumably having been made in haste when they got my order wrong.
To be fair though, they can fry the hell out of chicken, and have a...
