Ciao Papi — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Totally unimpressed…We booked a table inside as it was freezing cold and rainy. When we arrived the staff said the inside section was closed because they couldn’t be bothered cleaning it & they insisted we freeze outside in the onshore wind at night & be completely uncomfortable. Every single table we could hear kept saying how cold they were outside. We asked for a heat lamp seeing the staff insisted we freeze & they said they don’t have them. We called in advance & if we’d know there was absolutely no indoor seating going to be available, we would have taken our money to staff who look after customers. The service was terrible, wait staff invisible. No waiter ever came back to take our order or top up our water. The Moreton Bay pizza was perfection however the gamberi pasta had no seasoning or flavour & invisible teeny ungenerous skimpy prawns. Once the dishes had arrived the waiter final appeared & stood behind us to take each dish away as soon as it was finished so that they could go home & it was only 8.30pm. All of the food went cold as soon as it hit the table because we were made to sit outside freezing. This was so dumb. It does not make sense. We felt so rushed by the staff trying to eat our cold, flavourless food as quickly as possible. A waitress did actually came back & said the kitchen is closing right now so order dessert if you want it now, but had not even brought a menu. Then she didn’t even leave the table to let us think as she said the kitchen needs to know right now. The desserts were all pre-made so she could have given us one second to think what we wanted. It was awful feeling so pressured & rushed, & the only time any staff member had been attentive all night ha! She should have told us that the lemon sorbet dessert we ordered was actually going to be the worst dessert of our lives as the honeycomb was burnt AF & the flavours of lemon & charred honeycomb don’t complement each other. If she told us it was going to be bad, we wouldn’t have ordered it & she could have gone home sooner. If we had known we had to sit outside in the cold on a rainy night and been hurried along to leave so that the staff could go home, we would have gone somewhere else that could actually cook and treats customers like they matter. Wake up Ciao Papi, in these times of economic hardship, staff should treat the paying customers spending a lot like gold because they’re keeping restaurants open & everyone in jobs. It wouldn’t have mattered if you let us sit inside. It’s still only a table that needs cleaning no matter where it is in the restaurant & it would have made us so happy that we didn’t have to leave a bad review. According to these reviews, other customers have been upset by being denied from sitting inside too. The view is good, but you can’t eat the view nor can you enjoy it if you’re being rushed through your meal. The parking is so expensive that you need great food & service to make up for it. Unfortunately Ciao Papi does not know how to make customers happy, hence this review. No stars! Zero...

Nice skyline view, average service and food and home to the worst Tiramisu in Brisbane. We had a group of 7 dine here in the middle of the week. The group vote was that this place was average, my personal experience was well below average for staff and food. Really nice location and would recommend the Burrata and crispy zucchini flowers - That's it. I needed up ordering a bottle of Chianti that our friendly Columbian waitor recommended but in all honesty is was not worth almost $80, the cheaper one is good. When our orders were being taken around the table I specifically asked the waitor if everyone was ordering entrees and mains or just entrees. He assured me it was a bit of both so I ordered my entrees. Turns out everyone had ordered both and I was the only one sitting there without a meal while everyone ate their mains, how embarrassing. I tried to get the waitors attention several times but no one came over to even meal check our whole table. When the plates were being cleared only then did the waitor approach me and apologise for the 'stuff up'. He organised my Rigatoni pork rage for take away on the house which was nice. But it was packed in a cardbourd box with a foil lining. The hot ragu made the box flimsy and it collapsed whilst I was walking to the car after dinner. Also it's not ideal to put a dish like that in a box lined with foil. The food was stuck to the foil and you cannot reheat it in the microwave so I had my dinner cold. We also ordered desserts to share, the strawberry sorbet came with ONE cut up 'seasonal (straw)berry' the chocolate and hazelnut Turtufo gelato was so thick of chocolate dusting we were checking. As for the Tiramise - the worst I've ever had.. ever!! Even the waitor commented when he saw that we have left a majority of it untouched. When it came to settling the bill we had a different waitor, although friendly he did say "I'd prefer if you could split the bill in two as it would make my job easier". Very odd and unprofessional thing to say....

Went here for my friends birthday. Service was absolutely horrible. Non existent for that matter. We sat there for 40 minutes before anyone came to offer us drinks or food. I’ve worked in hospitality give or take 5 mins after a table is seated ASK if they want drinks. We watched 4 staff stand at talk and completely ignore our table and others.

Bit hard to miss us considering we were seated at the ENTRANCE where multiple staff walked by. And then when they came. It was the manager who had to step in? Like it wasn’t busy enough for staff to neglect tables. As well when we finally ordered drinks they arrived 20 minutes later. We even tried ordering from the bar but they said table service only and if that’s the case GET ON TOP OF ASKING PEOPLE IF THEY WANTS DRINKS. Then when we ordered drinks they completely forgot even a waiter came back and said “did you get your drink” and we said no. So it was on the house.

Food arrived. Pizza wasn’t cut AT ALL we ended up having to just pull it a part. The potatoes and steak or whatever it was. Cold. Straight off the first bite. So I got it taken off the bill for my friend cause $45 it better be hot. Not cold and gross. Not to mention they literally took my friends birthday cake to ANOTHER table so her partner had to intervene ?

Never returning. You’d think for the location you’d get good service and food but it was disgusting. Your staff are incompetent and take more liking to the men at the table. Asking if they want drinks but ignoring the girls? What’s the deal with that. I think this venue needs to reconsider who they have hired and get on top of their priorities in service because standing around and talking while our table was full of empty cups and dishes for an hour is depressing. Considering you promised good service for her birthday we could’ve gone to McDonald’s and had a far better night.
