Friendly staff at reception. Booked two nights as was the prime location to our wedding venue
I thought with the cost of the room I would get a bath tub and a nice view Perhaps some people don't care for that luxury but some rooms don't provide this. I was originally given a room with the car park entrance and no bath tub and I was looking forward to a good soak. I asked to upgrade. This shouldn't have to cost anyone $350 a night.
For $700 for two nights I would of been disappointed staying in the room originally given to us. They said there would be no extra charge to relocate rooms but when my invoice came at the end of our stay we were charged more for our room the second night.
The waitress at the cocktail roof top bar accused us of eating leftover food on the first night stay so we didn't bother going back there. It's a sitdown menu and no queuing at the bar. This wasn't made very clear so I felt quite embarrassed when asking for a drink and then told to sit down and wait. Then to be accused of eating other people's food was it for me.
When getting ready for the wedding the next day we thought to order some light lunch to the room so we could be more organised for our occasion but room service offered limited times only. As our wedding was late in the day we ended arriving hungry. Maybe I should of checked. The fact that they can bring you drinks and not food bothered me a little. Especially for the price you pay to stay.
The breakfast bar has an authentic menu and both mornings we tried most dishes to satisfy our curiosity, the dishes that were included in our stay that is. The breakfast fruit and oats would be the safest and satisfying choice. I personally found the scrambled egg too runny and the meats too fatty and heavy. One dish was a beef and tomato dish that tasted as though it had been burned. Beef for breakfast strange I know!
All comparison sites online are charging $250 a night to stay at this hotel. I however played over $400 a night.
I feel quite upset by the experience compared to other hotels I have been too and for what I spent. For the money spent I definitely recommend the W hotel for a overall service.
Cool art work if you appreciate that stuff and a nice touch to the place and expected in a nice hotel.
Perhaps the roof top/penthouse rooms are worth the price.
I would suggest having a little more availability on room service. A basic breakfast menu with clear signs of where to go, as the resturant is behind a glass window/curtain and also outside, it was a little hard to tell without having to ask someone , "where do I go". Friendly cocktail staff that don't accuse you of eating other people's food. The rooms with a bad view and no bathbtub should be charged alot less than $350 a night.
Reception lady's were great. A nice swimming lounge...
Read moreUnfortunately my stay at crystalbrook was sub-par. We went on a girls trip for 3 nights. The hotel was beautiful but service was horrible. I chose crystalbrook because it was a 5 star rated hotel & all about sustainability, having stayed at the Calile before I thought I would try something different. Upon arrival nothing was really explained to us. No one asked reason for travel or pointed out any facilities. When we got to our rooms I wondered where the water was and ended up drinking from the tap… no one told us about the filtered water. First morning at breakfast the service was ok until we had to pay… staff need to learn to actively listen. We ended up paying for the wrong items. I asked the staff how the breakfast inclusion worked and they said not to worry, but didn’t explain what was included. I went to front desk to make sure we had the breakfast inclusion and we didn’t and that was a hassle & 20 minute ordeal after being told I had to add a day prior however our breakfasts were all cancelled for all days when I had emailed prior to just request Sundays to be cancelled. We had dinner or tried to have dinner and drinks on the Saturday night on the roof which was an app long experience. Having being asked 4 times how we wanted 3 steaks cooked by 3 different people they still all came out rare (we ordered 2 medium & 1 medium rare) then at 10:15pm we had to follow them up having still not received 2 after sending them back… we got the steaks taken off after I complained but I think proactively the whole bill should have been wiped clean. On the Sunday I realised that they had taken on top of the holding amount for 3 nights ($1,000) another $1,500 was taken off my card, so I have to spend another 45 minutes sorting that out too. For the experience we had I would have expected at least a couple nights credit! What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend away ended up being more stressful than before we left for our break. Service leaves much room for improvement. Active listening is definitely something to work on as well as basic customer service. Unfortunately I would never stay there again and it is a shame because the hotel itself is beautiful. I loved the idea of all the sustainability however even that needs to be worked on as we didn’t even get briefed on the towels and how to be conscious about sustainability with them. A simple note near the towels or on the welcome greeting on the iPad would of been fine. Other than that little things that happened ; we are walking in on after we had checked in to check the mini bar …. No brief on how and what to do and how to use things… where things are like the gym and pool … no show around… very disappointed....
Read moreCrystalbrook Vincent never ceases to impress with its blend of comfort, convenience, and those unbeatable views. From my experience of multiple stays, the 'River Master' room provides a unique perspective of the Story Bridge and Brisbane River - a sight to behold (see attached photo for proof!).
The check-in and check-out processes were smooth, with friendly staff that remember you, adding that extra personal touch. However, it's worth noting to ensure you get your parking pass upon checkout if you've paid for parking.
The room layout is pleasant, albeit starting to show some signs of aging. The beds offer good comfort, the desk overlooks the stunning Story Bridge, and despite its location amidst buzzing bars and restaurants, soundproofing is top-notch, ensuring a quiet night's rest. That being said, the bathroom could do with some minor improvements - a deep clean for the shower head and a few more luxurious amenities wouldn't go astray.
The hotel staff consistently provide great service. While we didn't utilize room service due to a minor app hiccup, we did enjoy the lively atmosphere of the rooftop bar and pool. Definitely a spot to enjoy during the day.
Staying true to its namesake, Fantauzzo, the hotel is adorned with intriguing photographs, adding to its unique character. The vibrant color scheme is charming, but could use a refresh to prevent it from looking faded.
The hotel's location is unbeatable - a stone's throw from various bars, restaurants, parks, and the river. Accessibility is one of the many reasons why I keep coming back. Additionally, the green wall rooms, which provide a view of a vertical garden, offer a lovely, budget-friendly alternative.
In summary, Crystalbrook Vincent is a top pick for those seeking central accommodation with amazing views. Despite some minor room updates being due, the hotel continues to deliver a memorable experience. Can't wait for...
