Dok Bua Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Easily the worst takeaway Thai I have eaten in Australia in the last 15 years.

I wouldn’t have bothered writing a review, but I spent $70 on a curry, a stir fry and some fish cakes so I couldn’t let this go. We chose to order from this restaurant over another local place because I expected the quality to be better based on the look of the place.

The fish cakes were fishy, rubbery and cold.

The Beef massaman was thin and flavourless, the roti was doughy.

The basil and chilli stir fry was filled with chicken and that’s about it - very little vegetables and the sauce spilled entirely out into the bag...

The worse Pad Thai ever. I am not exaggerating... I had one bite and decided this needs to be binned. Husband said, surely it cannot be THAT bad. He had a bite and spat it out... Binned it. What was wrong with it? The noodles felt like they added some sauce (nasty yucky one) and then washed it under the tap. The beef was so overcooked, it was like eating the sole of a shoe... Tasted like that too. The spicy fried rice and spring rolls were ok. Nothing worth mentioning. Needless to say, never ordering from there again. Stay away...

I have been dining here for several years and have consistently found both the food and service to be of an exceptionally high standard. Not once have I experienced a disappointing meal, as every dish has been fresh, well-prepared, and flavoursome. Despite the fact that we rarely make a reservation, we are always seated promptly, which is a testament to the efficiency and professionalism of the staff.
