I have had takeaway from Little Red Dumpling in Brisbane City and it was great, so thought we'd try one local to as at the Gabba as a dine in on a Wednesday night. All I can say is it was well below average at best, purely another franchise operation with students doing everything and not very well. Couldn't see any real chefs in the kitchen just one guy and one girl in their early 20's looking very unenthusiastic, no sound of woks clanging or anything just the sound of microwaves beeping so I am assuming it's all frozen pre-prepared and reheated. Kind of like a Coffee Club for Dumplings and Asian Food. Here's what we had: Fried Rice was soggy and very average, we only ate about a third of this. Lamb Ribs, kind of crispy but fat was not rendered very well and under seasoned. Dry roasted sort of but unseasoned big chunks of partially cooked lamb fat and dried out meat. Crispy Pancake was more like a frozen pizza base cooked in a toaster or sandwich press, super dry and bland Fried Chicken was ok, it was essentially a crumbed fried chicken thigh chopped and served with mayo, it was the one positive dish. Waygu Buns were just like frozen pan fried/steamed dumplings rather than buns I have had at other dumpling places, these were soggy and bland. We had a 500ml Tiger & a glass of Chardonnay and it was $85.00 all up. Why oh why did we not just drive to Sunnybank for proper Asian food. Lesson learned. Sorry Little Red Dumpling you missed the...

I had an incredible dining experience at Little Red Dumpling Woolloongabba! From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of the rich aromas of authentic Chinese cooking.
The dumplings were the absolute highlight — perfectly handmade, juicy, and bursting with flavour. I especially loved the spicy chilli oil dumplings; the balance of heat and umami was spot on. Every dish we tried was fresh, beautifully presented, and generously portioned.
Service was friendly and efficient, and the staff made great recommendations. Prices are reasonable for the quality, making it a great spot for casual dinners or a fun night out with friends.
Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic dumplings with bold, satisfying flavours. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreGreat food and I had a great experience the first time it was open.
However, 23rd Feb night was a terrible experience. The team was really clueless as to what was going on. No one to supervise them. We were seated on a table that was dirty so asked the lady to wipe it but she just brought cutleries and bowls instead. Then when the food arrived, she wasn’t sure what was what. And then said she will get us cutleries when there were already cutleries on the table. Then she placed 2 glasses on the tables with no water bottles.
I feel that the team needs to be more organised in what they are doing. One to clear and set tables, one to serve food would have worked perfectly on the Friday night. Instead everyone was just behind the bar getting drinks and food, and everyone rushing out to...
