I only ever buy cold brew coffee from F&B and have done for years. They kept it in a jug when I first tried it and have experimented with canning it and now they have a concentrate in a bag alongside the cans. I've tried the concentrate (a couple of times to give it a chance) and was underwhelmed at best. The canned version still has that same naturally chocolaty taste that most iterations have had even if the cans are mostly a waste of metal and time. The awful concentrate should be avoided, I'm not sure why they can't have the same product from the cans, in a jug. The cans just advertise how little coffee actually goes into the big plastic cup filled with ice. I'm guessing that few people would actually take the cans away because they only have enough for one drink. If they sold larger bottles then people would take it home to drink. If you only visit F&B once a week but you could take a big bottle home then you might drink it every day and pay $25 or so every time you went there rather than the absurd $6.90 they charge for the tiny can - Coffee Mentality have the best cold brew (X3 distinct variants) I've tried in Brisbane and they sell it in slightly larger bottles for $7.
F&B cold brew is very nice but they seem to be trying too hard. The young woman who served me today was lovely but there is one girl that has repeatedly tried to tell me that the cans and concentrate taste the same. Saying something so silly doesn't present F&B in the coffee expert framing I think they...
Read moreFoster & Black Carindale is a small boutique in a fair sized food court. There's little seating around the shop itself but plenty in the courtyard just outside the large glass doors, there's a small play area and plenty of sunlight in the mornings, there's a few tables with umbrellas should you want to shelter away from the elements. A wide variety of music gets played at this coffee shop out of some small but great sounding Sonos speakers, I always look forward to whatever is being played on any given morning, day, or late night on a Thursday. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't Shazam'd multiple tracks for my own playlists during my stop ins.
It would be an oxymoron for me to say 'Foster & Black know their craft', because I myself know ridiculously little about coffee and how to make it other than how to use a domestic coffee machine. If you already purchase coffee from markets or other retailers I'd recommend speaking to Foster & Black staff about the different varieties they sell and what sort of recommendations they have for your specific situation.
In short; the coffee is fantastic, the vibe is great, and the staff are professionals. There's plenty of coffee joints in this particular shopping centre, and by all means explore your options, but this sunny little spot is worth wandering over to.
Current Foster & Black staff reading this; sorry to be so cringey lmao love y'all u kno it thank u for making my day way more often than what coffee shop...
Read moreI visited this coffee bar from Sunshine Coast whenever I visit Carindale Shopping centre. I think this one is the best amongst all cafes in this centre. They only offer small selection of sweets so if you're after meals, this is not recommended. They have tables now so I don't have to walk around to find a table any more! They do single origin now so black coffee lovers like me can benefit a lot. I havent had bad coffee so far, and service is always prompt and friendly. I have noticed this coffee stand has developed their presence quickly. Hope...
