I usually try to be patient, but after several pickups from Griiled Ascot I’m beyond frustrated. As an Uber Eats driver, my job depends on quick turnarounds and smooth pickups. Unfortunately, this restaurant has made that nearly impossible.
Every time I arrive—on time, according to the app—the food is nowhere near ready. I’ve waited 10, 15, even 20 minutes just standing around while the order is still being cooked or bagged. It’s not just inconvenient, it’s disrespectful to the people who are helping bring your food to customers and not even an apology for the long wait.
Here’s what I need people to understand: Uber Eats drivers do not get paid to wait. We’re not on an hourly wage. We only get paid per delivery. So every minute we’re stuck waiting for an order is unpaid time—money out of our pocket. We’re literally losing income because a restaurant can’t manage its prep times properly.
On top of that, these delays affect the customer too. Cold food, late delivery times, and frustrated drivers all add up to a terrible experience—which reflects badly not only on Uber Eats but also on the restaurant itself.
If you’re going to partner with a delivery platform, have the food ready or at least close to ready when the driver shows up. Marking it as ready when it clearly isn’t is unfair to everyone involved. It slows us down, hurts our ratings, and makes us want to avoid picking up from your location in the future.
This isn’t just a one-off issue—this is consistent. And until it’s fixed, I’ll be avoiding this restaurant whenever possible. Respect drivers’ time. We’re not being paid to stand around your lobby waiting for you...
Read moreI dont enjoy writing these, and rarely do, but pretty disappointing manner from the staff today. Ive been a long time eater at Grilld, and will usually have a look at the menu briefly (10 sec or so) before ordering and never have I been made to feel like an inconvenience. However today, at around 1.30pm at Grilld Ascot 20th April 2024, I walk up to the menu stand, and immediately one of the female staff shouts (literally yells across the room) across from the chip area 'you eating in?'- clearly irritated. I indicate yes. She then continues to yell and orders me 'have a seat and come back once you have decided what to order'. In the span of 5 seconds I had gone from keen for a burger to feeling like I was a nuisance, and I left the place without ordering, and not keen on returning anytime soon. I would suggest management speak to their staff, in particular the woman who I suspect was the team leader/manager about her performance and customer service. Review the CCTV footage if you need to. It was an unnecessary interaction, rude, and damaging to Grillds long term prospects. As a winner of a national customer service award for an ASX listed company, Grilld management would do well to heed my advice. I will also be telling my friends and family about this interaction when the subject of...
Read moreThis was my first and only time at Grill'd, and I was so very disappointed. The "Friends of Falafel" burger was what I would call "Snack Size" for $11.50. The bun was very thin. I think it was supposed to be a low carb bun. I know how they make it low carb... there is hardly anything to it! The slaw contained a lot of liquid which had soaked through the bottom half of the bun before it had even been served at our table. The burger disintegrated when I tried to pick it up. There was no cutlery served with the meal. It might have been nice to have a spoon to eat it with! The waiter came over half way through the meal to ask how our meals were. If he had looked, he would have plainly seen that I was struggling with my meal. I started to tell him that I was disappointed, but he walked away mid-sentence. Not only was that extremely rude, but it denied the restaurant the opportunity to redress the problem, and salvage my patronage. I will...
