Rude combative staff. I waited to write a review on multiple occasions over a period of time to make a judgement if it was just an unlucky batch of staff or an isolated individual on my previous visits. It isn’t, it’s a consistent bad attitude and culture within this location. I have great empathy for the business owner, they would have been putting a lot on the line to buy into this business and have taken huge financial risks. Frequently given the wrong order, this instance I asked the food server to just check at the drive in to save a drive back to return an error in the order ( again ) and was met with sarcasm and an aggressive attitude. I approached the request with a quiet tone and smile as I was met with an angry and totally put out sour and angry facial expression at the window, it was confronting. I did not wish to provoke her. It seemed like before I spoke she wanted to lash out or just punish someone with her nasty attitude/mood - for what ever reason. It was quite shocking. Most people have been met with a level of I don’t care attitude but this was so much more. I tried to make sense of my experience and came up with different scenarios to try and understand why she was so combative. One thought I had was maybe she had experienced a potentially bad interaction prior and couldn’t separate her emotions from customer to customer ? Or she just hated being there working ! In the past the staff have just been generally absent and careless and yes I’ve been annoyed but to an extent brushed it off putting it down to the fact they are young and it’s not their forever job. Even though it’s not great it’s understandable. I can appreciate how hard it must be working in the food industry dealing with hungry humans ! I further understand and take into consideration as mentioned above the staff are young but the service ( or lack there of ) was just so unacceptable. There are many young workers in various industries who are pleasant and embrace the “service” concept. Management definitely needs to coach then monitor the basic principles of base customer service and address what is and isn’t acceptable. I also think that all staff should being wearing name badges, if they are meant to this individual wasn’t. Shame really because overall the food is delicious. I only wrote this review to be constructive and informative to the management and nothing more in hope that this culture can be amended to aid and protect further prosperity. An overhaul...
Read moreTraffic hell. This location needs to be fined by the city council. None of these reviews are talking about a massive issue with this branch, this gyg REFUSES to use the waiting bays provided. I have NEVER seen a car be sent to one, rain or shine. You could have your food in your lap near 10 minutes in the drive through while you wait behind the car in front to get theirs. This causes a MASSIVE issue that extends down the street both ways with constant honking and chaos as people try to exit the parking spots or enter.
The poor KFC next door must lose business from this practice as you cannot enter AT ALL. We are GYG regulars to this branch and it happens every. Single. Week.
It's either poor management or lack of want to use the waiting bays. KFC next door with same drive thru space never causes this. It's always GYG.
The food is fine other than a bit skimpy and rare to get a cold drink.
If you are in a rush or value your mental health never go to this gyg
Edit: I want to specify that this is at no fault of the no doubt overworked cooks and front staff and employees of this establishment. This is a management problem and structural problem at this GYG, this issue starts at the top not at all fault of the front...

Gayle from GYG contacted me to apologise once again and assured me that they have no control over when their delivery partners assign drivers, however also said my food order should never have been handed over after being left for so long. They are working closely with Menulog to resolve these sorts of issues. UPDATE: Andrew from GYG reached out and his sincere response and promise to address the issue has encouraged me to change my original review and give them another go. Well done guys and all the best. ORIGINAL REVIEW: "First and last time ordering GYG (by delivery). Offering free delivery on Menulog so thought I'd give it a go. Pre-ordered for when delivery orders first taken at 10am. According to store receipt it was received at 10.01am, but driver not assigned until 10.43am, meaning food received cold and soggy around 11.15am (NOTE: store only 6-8mins away). Menulog to their credit offered $5 voucher, but I believe fault was with restaurant. Not good when so many businesses now relying on delivery due...
