Unfortunately disappointed.

The beginning started off well enough...clean restaurant, nice waiter - friendly and took our order.

The curries arrived but no rice. We were not aware that the rice had to be purchased separately - apparently on the menu some "specialty" curries come with rice and the others (standard/typical curries) do not. The waiter did not say at the time of ordering that no rice would be served with the curries or check if we wanted any rice with the curries - this would have been very helpful at the time. I've never been to a curry house where the curries were not served with rice, as this is typically a major part of the meal. Unusual to say the least.

I was also sadly disappointed with the curries. We ordered three, they smelt wonder but the chicken and the lamb were very dry and the chicken was quite hard (chicken breast not thigh) and not tender at all.

Also, for each curry at $ 19.00 a serve there were only 5 pieces of meat in each curry with a lot of sauce and of course no rice.

We did order rice once we realised that none was forthcoming but this took an additional 20 minutes to come out of the kitchen, and the rice was stone cold. The restaurant was not crazy busy.

However, the staff, chef and owner were fawning over their friends who were sitting out at another table which in itself is not usually a problem at all but when contributes towards affecting the service level and quality of the food then it does become problematic.

I was so looking forward to the evening in the restaurant but left totally disappointed by the whole experience. The whole family were also disappointed with the meals and the service so the whole experience was a total let down unfortunately.

Needless to say we did not eat all of the food as it was terrible and left in a fairly...

Simply fantastic. I've been looking for an Indian restaurant to call home for the last 20 plus years and I've finally found it right in my own back yard. Simar and Sam the proprietors are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. If you have any questions about the food they are only too willing to explain its ingredients and cooking method. The food is made to order so if you're in a hurry for a curry and don't appreciate the wait for freshly made, cooked with love, food then this probably isn't the place for you. Vegetarian,s vegans and people with other dietary needs are well catered for here so don't be afraid to tell them of your food requirements as they will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. The food is to die for if you love Indian food. The starters are fantastic. I recommend the Prawn Tandoori, Lamb Cutlets, Onion Bhaji or the Eggplant Pakora. The vegetable curries are also exceptional and full of flavour. The Paneer in the Palak Paneer is made in the restaurant and not the mass produced stuff you get in other restaurants. The Tadka Dal is also a favourite. The curry bases are also made from scratch as opposed to bought and out of a jar and the flavour of the food backs that up. Curry favourites to date are the Lamb Dopiaza and the Goat Madras. The Biryani's are a meal in themselves and are full of meat. Even the breads are noteworthy. This restaurant is now officially my number 1 Indian restaurant in Australia. Do yourself a favour and give it a try. Don't be deceived by the unassuming shop front, it hides a word of flavour...

We have had food from here before and loved it so we have been eager to dine here again and unfortunately we have been left extremely disappointed at the quality of food and the service we received. We ordered food online and were told it would take 30 minutes to prepare. We arrived to pick up our food slightly after 30 minutes and were told it would be another 10-15 due to making fresh naan, no dramas stuff happens. After waiting 20 minutes I enquired again and was told it was ‘almost ready’, 10 minutes later we were given our food, no apology or ‘thanks for waiting’ was given. We got home to eat and unfortunately are extremely dissapointed with the food we have received. The butter chicken is extremely bland and flavourless and my medium is anything but, my partner ordered hers mild and I am convinced despite writing medium on my container, they simply served us the same curry. The most flavour in our meal was in the bottle of coke we also ordered. The lamb simossas are also extremely dry, and practically inedible. After being stuffed around by this same place a few weeks ago when they were closed despite accepting our online order and appearing open online it is unfortunately the final straw. Extremely disappointing especially considering we ordered nearly $100...

I first herd about this place from one of my clients who was Indian after telling him how I have been struggling to find an Indian restaurant anywhere in Brisbane that ticks ALL of the boxes for the place to go for Indian food. I tried this place with just my wife and we where to EXCITED by what we just experienced that I had to bring 2 foodie friends on mine which I did and in the same week! Its very rare that I write a review, but its really called for, for this Indian restaurant, may this review help save others who are suffering from the same dilemma, of Great Curries, Great Naan, Great tandoori, Great Biryani, Great Desert and Great SERVICE> YES ! The restaurant appears to be run by a very friendly family who take great pride in their service and food. Thank you Spicy Villa, you will be seeing us many a more times no doubt :)

We really enjoyed our night at spicy Villa Well, the atmosphere at the restaurant was a little lacking the food more than made up for it The chicken and lamb entree platter was excellent. The flavours were incredible and a serve was generous. The vegetable samosas were delicious as well The goat curry was flavoursome and served two of us generously And the chicken, was delicious as well And you have to have the garlic cheese naan it was amazing one serve is easily enough for four people This restaurant is cheap and cheerful and is a BYO as well We will definitely be back
