Starting with the positives, Staff are friendly, there is a wide selection of food, and it's a pretty decent atmosphere; and the Virgin Mojito was outstanding. Honestly my wife and I enjoyed and the food was pretty good, but in hindsight the quality isn't there to justify the price. We got there a bit after the main dining period and we had small amounts of most foods, to try it out, and there is a lot of decent stuff. My wife had a steak which she said was nice, but dry, and we presume this was due to how long it had been sitting there. The prawns were pretty awful, my wife didn't eat hers, I didn't even bother to try them, I pealed the wifes and they definitely didn't feel fresh; a friend of mine showed up a little later in the evening and didn't rate the prawns either. The ribs had very little meat on them. Pork belly, fish, Chinese style dishes all good. Deserts? A bit of a let down. Plenty of options but not much that really captured the imagination; that is of course with the exception of the chocolate fountain and fruit to dip. All and all a solid meal but just not good enough to justify the price.

Jayliano’s Mitchelton is a go-to if you’re after variety and plenty of it. Booking recommended. The hot food covers a broad range—steak, pork, chicken, fish, stir-fries, curry, plus sides like chips and calamari. There’s also a cold section with prawns, mussels, and a variety of salads, so there’s something for everyone. Desserts aren’t the main event, but they do the job. The chocolate fountain with marshmallows and ice cream is a highlight, alongside mini cheesecakes, jellies, and panna cotta—some more basic than others, but enough to finish off the night. The staff are friendly, efficient, and constantly clearing tables. Hot drinks are available, and you can order soft drinks or alcohol straight from the bar to your table. The venue is spacious, clean, and well laid out—great for families, large groups, or even just a couple. Pricing is fair, starting at $43 for adults and scaling down by age, right to $7 for toddlers. If you're after a wide variety and a satisfying meal, this place delivers. Not everything will be perfect, but you’ll definitely leave full and happy.

I absolutely loved this dining experience. We came at opening time on Tuesday night. Very impressed to see oysters, prawns, steak, and more! The selection was fantastic, the quality was far above most other buffets, and the price was quite reasonable. The service!! What a treat to be at an all-you-can-eat buffet and still be given service you'd expect at a fancy restaurant. The wait staff are all extremely polite and friendly. Any used plates never last more than a minute or two on the table. There is no feeling of being in the middle of a busy kitchen with staff walking around scraping plates into garbage trolleys dragged past people trying to eat, none of that. Rather, the calm, friendly demeanour portrayed by the staff sets a warm and inviting atmosphere. My wife, six kids, and I were all extremely satisfied. I just wish we didn't live so far away!

We came tonight for a Birthday, and that is literally the only reason I did not immediately walk out the door. The quality of the food is absolutely disgusting! 🤢 Even more so considering the price! The chicken appears to be some sort of lab grown meat or mushroom meat, or at best reconstituted/minced bits of everything refined to the point of just about not being food. The beef was fatty, and didn’t taste like real meat either. The desserts were a huge selection of mostly Sara-Lee cakes (see photos), and the ones that weren’t had a very strange taste and we found them unpalatable outside of the chocolate mouse and chocolate fondue which managed to pass as food. There was not enough silver wear, they were even using disposable spoons and plastic cutlery. I would say the drinks were very nice but you have to pay out of pocket for them and this was honestly the only reason you’d consider returning. We normally love a good buffet meal, and we have attended Jayliano’s at Strathpine in the past and found the quality to be premium. This is just not worth the price! I could have gone to the food court at the Chermside shopping centre, bought drinks and food for my whole family, have received far superior quality food for the same price for our family of 5. I will NEVER step foot back here again, and I strongly suggest you never do as well. I cannot get over the fact they think they can charge this amount for poison passed off as food. What it looks like is that someone high up in the business has cut costs either because they aren’t making the money, or because they want to bleed this place dry with the most profit margins they can. It’s just not worth it. It’s not. I have been conned and swindled out of money that was incredibly hard to earn. Especially in this...

I cannot stress enough how terrible my experience at this buffet was. From start to finish, it was an absolute disaster. The majority of the food was disgustingly bad. The meats were of the cheapest quality imaginable; tough, bland, and downright revolting. Don't even get me started with the steak. It was cold, slimy, and completely inedible. I genuinely couldn't stomach it and couldn’t even finish. Even when I waited for a new batch the second time it was still the same. The only remotely edible part of the meal was the dessert which still couldn’t salvage my appetite.

Another disgusting thing was the self service ice cream station, which I did not touch. Yeah I’m not exaggerating, anyone could scoop out the ice cream, no staff were serving and no gloves were used, which was downright unhygienic. The sanitising bucket wasn't changed the entire hour I was there and the scooper was left sitting in a mix of old gunk. It was obvious that cleanliness wasn’t a priority and it was unsettling to see such poor attention to basic food safety.

What made it even worse was the response when I complained. I was met with pure hostility. Nelson, the manager, was beyond unprofessional talking over me, defensively rambling, and insisting that all the staff claimed we had finished all of our plates. This was an outright lie. We didn’t finish anything because most of it was terrible, but he refused to listen and instead tried to shift the blame. No direct apology, no offer to make things right, just excuses. Very dismissive and trying to get us out. Claimed that they have the best quality in food and service 😂

This place is a complete joke. Save your time, money. I’d rather eat dog food than go back here. Avoid...

So this was my experience: The positives were the dessert and the hot chocolate, that's about it really. I'm just not satisfied.

Starting with the food, poor especially for its price. The food is cold because well it's a buffet and it's been sitting there for a while. The steak tasted soft and just didn't have the normal sensation you would have when eating a normal steak.

The service was the big issue of the afternoon. As soon as we enter we are greeted by the lovely manager who is the only positive standout here. The man who took us to our table was pretty shy and quiet, I could barely here him, the manager also told him to give us a run down on the place and how the buffet works which he didn't give us. He gave us a table for 4 when there was clearly 5 of us and a table for 6 literally right in front of our eyes. So we settle in with our food and almost immediately all the waiters surround us like magpies and they did this the whole time we were eating. When they walk past they are looking for a plate to grab which is the right thing to do but they stared at me and quietly whispered "can I take this one", just awkward interactions and maybe they need to express their passion to serve us or something.

Atmosphere was hard to notice. I felt like I was going to fall through the chair I was sitting on, unless it was trying to massage my sore back, actually good idea add some back massages to your chairs. To the people singing happy birthday, congrats on the world record for loudest group of people.

Sizzler didn't deserve to be replaced, it was 100x better then this place.

I think you get business because everyone wants to try the chocolate fountain.

Good luck for the...
