Jean's Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Brisbane City

NEVER ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT! Absolutely absymal! I am not usually one to leave bad reviews as i have worked in hospitality and know how damaging these reviews can be but i have never experienced anything like this! I ordered at 6pm through menulog and the estimated time of delivery was 7:15-735. I attempted to call the restaurant 4 times to try and cancel the order as it was now well past the estimated delivery time, however their phone number was disconnected! I contacted menulog for help and they ALSO couldn’t contact the restaurant! The driver arrived at 9pm! 3hours after ordering! I refused to take the food as i had to arrange alternative dinner arrangements and no longer wanted their food and wanted the order to be cancelled! 7 days later and the restaurant is still refusing to refund me my $40 and they are claiming they did nothing wrong, i had “received my food” and were “on time”. So moral of the story DO NOT order from this restaurant unless you want your money...

Went in on a Tuesday for lunch. Empty restaurant receipt for one other customer who was finishing up. Ordered a pork and basil stir fry with some rice and a drink. $31+. Owner brought the food to me at the table in takeaway containers. I was confused as I say down at a table, so I said I was dining in. She then said the $31+ was takeaway prices and then proceeded to shift me from a table with cutlery and a glass and napkin near the window, to a table near the entrance, to eat from my takeaway containers. In an empty restaurant. She then proceeded to get the menu and show me 'takeaway prices'. Overpriced and a really bad experience. I finished the food as I was starving. It was nothing special.. too much tenderiser used one the meat so it had no more texture, it was just bouncy. It was full of veg and a stingy amount of meat. Ordered it spicy and it wasn't. For $31 there are a LOT of other places you could have a way better dining/ eating out...

We were stopping overnight and were just down the road from this restauranr. Well, so pleasantly surprised. We meet Jean at the door late afternoon and came up for an evening meal. After ordering curry puffs and spring rolls as a entre…we were keen for the rest. Along came lucky duck and ginger mushroom stir fried. Both so very delicious. The duck curry had the right amount of sweetness and I was really happy to taste the fresh grated ginger in the stir fried…beautiful fresh zing. We finished it all off with some deep fried ice cream…I have to say…amazing. Roped in coming and deep fried. Do delicious. Oh…and in unexpected vegetable in both dishes which just lifted it right up into the 5 star…pumpkin. Thanks Jean and your very efficient crew. Delicious, efficient and very...
