Lee's Bakery — Restaurant in Brisbane City

This review is for pies only. Service was good and they seemed nice.

Saw a few recommendations for pies at this Bakery and the reviews on Google seemed to support it. Honestly anyone who rates the pies from this place needs to get out more and try better pie shops. Also get their taste buds checked.

Price was decent at around $6 per pie. Size was not good - thin like yatala or pie face. Pastry was dry, thick and a bit tough like biting into an old biscuit. Mince was very gelatinous. Flavour was plain as well. Honestly wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a frozen pie from woolies and this. First time in a long time I didn't actually want to finish the pie but I don't like wasting food so I pushed through most of it. Also first time ever my partner didn't finish a potato top pie as its her favourite. To be honest they tasted like they were a day old or left in the warmer way too long.

Steak bacon and cheese - not much steak bacon or cheese and could barely taste it.

Chilli pie - was a new addition so I guess they're trying things, but brother, you can't just put sriracha on top of the mince of a pie, slap a lid on and call it a chilli pie. You have to make a separate chilli mince mixture to get a really good chilli pie.

Potato top pie - this is the one which really made me think they gave us day old pies. The potato was like cardboard on top.

Extremely disappointed and won't be going back.

Freshest and softest bakery items at very reasonable prices compared to some other bakeries. I love their sandwiches which are made fresh daily. I ate 3 sandwiches in one sitting surprisingly because I wanted to try all the varieties. They were so delicious I went back and got another 3 more sandwiches. The lady at the counter was shocked when I came back. She probably thought I was complaining but I wasn't. I just wanted more of her lovely sandwiches. The pies also thought moreish and fresh. I saw people queueing up and the patronage is constant. This is an indication that the bakery items are popular, delicious and worth coming back again and again. Lovely family who run the store. It was on a terrific Thursday when I found Lee's bakery. I recently been going through an obsession with cup noodles and questioning my existence.
