Finding The Little Sparrow was the absolute highlight of a long, obligatory shopping trip to the mall. We all know those errand days when you need a serious morale boost, and this cafe delivered. Seeing their focus on "Melbourne" coffee immediately put me at easeāI knew I was in good hands! I ordered my usual extra strong flat white with skinny milk, and from start to finish, the experience was memorable. The cashier was an absolute sweetheart; their warm smile genuinely brightened my mood, and the service was fast, efficient, and truly personal. The barista was equally kind, whipping up my perfect coffee and thoughtfully adding a cookie AND a marshmallow for my partner. It's those small, generous gestures that make a huge difference! After tasting how perfectly the cookie complemented the flat white, my partner went back to buy a few more. If you are looking for high-quality specialty coffee and exceptionally kind service during your mall visit, look no further than The Little Sparrow. They turn a tedious errand day into a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there today 02/09/24 and was VERY DISAPPOINTED ! I had to repeat my order for a slice of Opera Cake 3 times, the coffee order (Flat White) was taken without having to repeat. Total order came to $16.12 which included an extra of cream on the side for $2.50. When the order arrived to my table (which did not take long) the cake still had the plastic protective wrap in place, the "CREAM" was in a small plastic container and was AEROSOL cream - for $2.50 !! No no!! The coffee had far too much froth on top for a flat white and was LUKE warm. Nevertheless I did not complain as they were fairly busy and apart from that it was difficult to catch thw waitresses eye.Although when she came to clear the table I did politely mention to her about the coffee, to which I did not receive any verbal reply ONLY a vacant stare, then she picked up the dishes and walked away. As there are plenty of other choices to have coffee and cake at Chermside I doubt I shall patronise that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered a banana bread and was eventually asked if I wanted it toasted and I said yes, and I asked for it to be buttered as well.
I hung around the store to wait where the lady directed me, and saw they were a little busy and visited some very near stores. After nearly 10 minutes, the banana bread still wasn't there, so I asked another worker just to follow up.
She told me the banana bread takes a while to toast (10 minutes???) so it should be done soon. I received right after, said thank you and left.
The banana bread was half burnt, lukewarm and tough and chewy. The back had black charred bits, and i usually don't mind bread ends butt (haha butt) this was abysmal... and I was hoping the butter would be the saving grace - only for it to be very dry, I gave up on eating it after it literally absorbed all the moisture in my mouth... man i really...
