I went online to order from UberEats and just as I ordered... it said that the Tofu rolls were not available anymore. I was ordering a Pork Com for lunch for myself, and the Tofu rolls were meant to be an afternoon treat for my (vegan) partner when he gets home in 2 hours.
So I rang Mrs Luus...
I asked about the tofu situation. The person on the phone checked with the kitchen and came back and said, βOh, yeah, actually weβve just run out of vegan tofu. We usually do have it but weβre all out.β
Well I must have sounded like a kid whoβs been told Santa isnβt coming this year!
Me: βOh.... not at all? Oh... well.... thatβs........ okay....... I guess..... no, not vegetarian....... no, he canβt have omelette..... never mind..... okay, byeβ (πππ SOOO SAD!!!!)
I was just about to hang up and....
WAIT WHAT??? (She just spoke to the chef again, and actually they have one serving left)
OMIGOD SOOOO HAPPY π
SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPPPPPYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

So they turned on the option to select the Tofu rolls while I was on the phone so that I could get them, then turned it off again before anyone else ordered...
Them: βOkay, Iβm turning it on now. Quick! Select it and put the order throughβ
Me: βGot it! Did you yet the order?β
Them: βYes! For Alicia! We got it! Glad we could help you!β
Order is being delivered now π₯°π₯°π₯°
And how happy that made me is a testament to how good the...
Β Β Β Read moreMrs Luu's is busy, the food is obviously tasty but is it any good? Lots of yummy Viet staples on the menu and to their credit they offer a decent variety of Banh mi, Goi cuon and Bun dishes. Now that it's winter they even offer some lovely soups such as Hoanh Thanh mi xa xiu. I needed Banh mi Heo quay ( roasted pork belly) and was it decent? Was it yummy? yes, but we're talking about crispy pork belly- of course it's good. Was the Banh mi authentic? Kinda.. was it worth $11? Hmm not sure. It was good but lacking thrill, lacking the wow factor that you get when you bite into a first class Banh mi. It lacked depth and the senses that is all so typically Vietnam. It lacked the crunch, sweet, sour, hot, cold. I came for the pickled vegetables, the thick layer of pate, the creamy butter, pungent topping of coriander and decent whack of chilli. I was kind of disappointed that it didn't have what I needed, I really wanted it to be true. That I could find a Banh mi in Brisbane that has the ability to transport me back to eating these delicious rolls in Vietnam, the ones that make you question your very existence, the ones that make you say, I'm leaving Australia and moving here, the ones that make you say, cut it out! How ridiculously good is this? Mrs Luu's is yum there's no question about it... It just lacks...

First, I ordered beef/pork banh mis on different days at different times, itβs a bit weird to assume that whenever someone posts a food review on google, it must be the exact time they ate at your restaurant.
Second, I donβt think itβs fair to expect your customers to give instant feedback if they do not like the food - I usually order takeaway and only find out how it turns out once Iβm back at my office - and youβll probably say itβs because of the time delay - I donβt deny that could be part of the reason, but based on my experience with other restaurants I donβt think thatβs the main issue.
Also Iβm here to post a review regarding your food - which is a kind of honest feedback Iβm giving you. And it disappointed me that your reply just dismissed all my points and even tried to shift all these onto me. I guess my only mistake was giving this place more chances after the first time.
Original review: The beef/pork banh mi is extremely dry - I tried them several times and i got the same result. Also the portion is not generous given the price. Will...
