First time tried Paparich Coorparoo. It started great. Food taste great. Chicken satay the meat is tender and tasty. Roti Canai is soft buttery and tasty. Fish fillet curry noodle soup is alright but won’t order it again. I was ready to give 5 star when the end of the dinner experience dropped to the floor. We couldn’t finish our food and asked for a take away container to take them home. We got 2 thin paper bags and a tiny dip container instead. I did ask how can we put the pickles, the peanut sauce, beef rendang and 2 sauces in a paper bag? She just walked away. Mind you, we sat near the kitchen. Very close to the 2 available staff. And no other customers there but my husband and myself. So we just brought home the chicken satay without the pickles and peanut sauce, and the roti without the beef rendang and the 2 sauces. I tried to put the peanut sauce in the tiny dip container but the container cannot be closed. So I just left it. They watched me struggling with the dip container and didn’t do anything. I am still so angry beyond words. She still didn’t get the hint when she said “have a good evening” and I just walked away without even looking at her. It needs special people with special care to serve in restaurant. I’m all about giving huge tip and 5 stars. I always pay for take away containers too. But did not give what a customer asked for after asking several times and gave dog bags for partially wet food,...
Read moreFirst visit. Not for me.
Came here only because we had a discount voucher and because we had a movie at Dendy.
Waited outside at their podium that wasn’t manned for about 5 mins, walked near the door and we were then seated.
I thought that it’s a very limited vegetarian menu and very expensive for what they actually serve. Their 330 ml of Coke is $4.50. There’s markup and then there’s PappaRich.
There’s a very small amount of sambal, dhal and that spicy sauce that is served. Taste was not that great. I asked for steaming rice and I requested it to be reheated. I was advised that “nasi lemak” was coconut rice - it tasted nothing like coconut rice.
Their menu is very set and rigid. There is no option for any variation. It’s either a whole big plate of veggies or nothing. No small portion size. I’m not sure which veggos like mock meat - good luck to you - but personally eating mock mutton does not appeal.
The roti was well cooked as requested. Thanks for that.
Service was friendly. When they serve your food, they give you your bill as well. What if you want to order more?! Luckily I didn’t have that issue.
Thanks for dinner, I ate it as we had a movie to catch and going elsewhere was not an option.
Definitely won’t return, but thanks for...
Read moreGreat spot for some Malaysian food after a movie at the Dendy in the same centre. We ordered:
N11 dry egg noodles with steamed chicken, $15.90 - dry egg noodles doused in rich curry gravy, topped with choy sum, red chilli, fried shallots and a serve of steamed chicken on the side N13 Pappa wat tan hor, $15.90 - wok-fried combination thick flat rice noodles with egg gravy, prawns, fish cakes, chicken slices, choy sum and fried shallots E35 garlic naan, $5.90
I’ve enjoyed the previous visits to this store and this time was no different - tasty and comforting food. My dry noodles were just the right consistency and went great with the curry sauce and a bit of chilli. The steamed chicken was a good compromise between this dish and the Hainan chicken rice on my shortlist. Wifey slurped up her go-to dish of wat tan hor. As usual, the boy shared some of our food but his main carb was the naan, a change up from his usual order of roti canai.
It was basically a winning meal all over cos everything we had was spot on. If I didn’t already have easy access to another PappaRich store a stone’s throw from home, I could definitely see myself coming...
