I LOVE Bistro Korea. Me and my friends harass this location, ordering the fried chicken buffet hundreds, no, THOUSANDS, of time. We are the sole contributors to all chicken farms. I love Bistro and it is 100 times better than Kai Kai chicken, despite Kai Kai's delicious donuts.
The lemon ice tea is delicious, magnificent even. The fried chicken is as crisp as that piece of gunk that has been left in your air fryer for the past 3 years. Yet, it is succulent like a juicy watermelon. They have a wide variety of flavours, our groups favourites being the volcano, mustard, and honey soy. These flavours are absolutely GOURMET. Hands down the BEST chicken in Brisbane. Furthermore, the crinkle cut chips are delicious and crisp, similar to that of the chicken. However, make sure you do not fall victim to the trap of consuming too much chips, hence, losing room in your stomach for the delicious fried chicken.
On top of this praise, the service is immaculate, spectacular, and sublime. Our group has some big eaters, some managing to eat 50+ chicken wings in one sitting. And yet, with such great demand, they are able to keep up. Although there are some waiting times, it is expected as we clear 3 plates of fried chicken in a mere minute. I have witnissed the owner sweating due to the severe heat in that kitchen, most likely due to having the fryers on maximum heat in order to cook the colossal amount of chicken required to fullfil our stomachs. Whenever our hearts are empty, we know that our stomachs will always be full at Bistro.
In addition, the K-pop music is lovely. I love K-pop.
Alas, it is time to talk about the cons. Sadly, due to inflation, the prices have increased marginally. However, Bistro will always see our familiar faces returning. I love Bistro, I hope...
Read moreWas craving Korean Chicken on my way and this place popped up on GMaps. I'm always up to try new places especially food ones.
To be honest, this place disappointed me. There were a few things that didn't really worked for me. Mind you, the food doesn't taste bad, but there are heaps of these Korean Chicken places popping up everywhere that the standards are a bit high.
First let's start with the most important part, the chicken. Ordered 12 wing pack and when the dish arrived, that's when I knew it was a let down. The chicken doesn't have the Korean "breading/coating" that everyone loves. It's pretty much just fried wings. The sauce doesn't have anything to stick to or soak into.
Next, the spicy flavour sauce. Let's just say the ratios are a bit off. The sauce tasted like bibimbap sauce. In order of taste that comes into my head: corn syrup, gochujang, sesame. Usually, it should be chilli (maybe Korean chili powder), gochujang, sesame, corn syrup. It just tasted too sweet.
After that, the chicken radish, it was cut into tiny cubes that you can barely taste it at all. All I tasted was the brine and sugar, no radish at all.
Lastly, my mate ordered a meat salad (bulgogi). It was well presented. Just like the picture in the menu. It saddened me when it arrived that they kinda skimp'd on the salad. I mean it's $13.
Hopefully the owners would read my review and improve their chicken.
Only redeeming factor is that the staff are very attentive and helpful and that the place is accessible with great shops around and parking.

The atmosphere is casual and practical, perfect for a quick meal while you’re in the area, yet the food quality makes it stand out far beyond its location.
I tried the chicken set, which came out generous in portion and packed with flavour. You can choose from three styles – spicy, sweet, or a balanced in-between – so there’s something to suit every taste. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and well-seasoned, making it the kind of dish that leaves you wanting to come back for more. At around $20, it’s great value for the size and quality.
One thoughtful touch that really impressed me was the service: they provide gloves so you can dig into the chicken without worrying about messy hands. It’s a small detail, but it makes the whole experience that much more enjoyable.
Whether you’re visiting the inspection centre or just nearby, this spot is worth seeking out. It’s the sort of hidden local gem where good food, fair prices, and friendly service come...
