This was my favourite sushi train in Brisbane, I’ve previously taken many of my friends here to eat as all of the food, but especially the sushi and sashimi, has always been good quality, really fresh and the cut nicely etc. Went for dinner tonight for the ‘All You Can Eat’ and was a bit disappointed. I found that the sushi and nigiri fish was cut quite thinly and there was a lot of rice. I ate some of the rice that came with the dishes, but did not eat all of it as a lot of rice gives me an upset stomach. The lady serving was lovely and explained that I would be charged a $15 wastage fee for wasting the rice, which I said I understood and was okay to pay this. When we went to pay and got a receipt, I realised we were charged $15 per person for the rice I had not eaten and I felt bad as my friend did not waste any food. Overall, the service staff are lovely. But I definitely feel that the quality of the food has gone down. I understand it was an ‘All You Can Eat’ for $42.50 and that the restaurant is trying to make money and not lose it, but it has definitely changed since I...
Read moreGreat experience came here to check out the 1 person bbq. My friend got the beef Bento she loved it it was a pretty big serving size for price so she thought it was good value for money. I got the 1 person wagyu bbq and that was so good so simple and really great price. Service was pretty slow though but it seemed like there was only 1 person out on the floor. The food seemed to come out pretty slow. The flame doesn't last very long on the bbq so if you don't cook all the meat quickly you'll have to ask for a relight which is fine. I also ordered a wagyu beef aburi to check it out. It was a pretty thick cut of beef, and definitely wasn't blow torched like other places, only comes with a drizzle of teriyaki sauce, I think if it had abit of shredded onion ontop and some Mayo it would taste better but it was still good... if it was slightly thinner cut, blow torched instead of pan seared topped with teriyaki sauce and Mayo and thinly sliced onion it would be on par with all the other sushi train places that serve wagyu aburi. All in all would definitely go back for the...
Read moreHere's a hot business tip: dont accuse your customers of stealing. (they charged us for two extra plates we didn't take off the sushi train, we used the order ipad the whole time and no sushi train covers on our table so he couldn't have made a mistake). Noticed the next day the extra fee on the receipt and went down there to ask about the charge, owner claims 'Everyone says they don't take plates but they do so...' Shocking. Changed review to one star, owner is arrogant and disrespectful, will rip you off. Don't be fooled by the good reviews.
Sushi rolls were okay, but the bowl meals were pretty awful unfortunately. Yakisoba was way too sickly sweet and did not taste like yakisoba at all, and the noodles in the spicy ramen was like those 2 minute packs of noodles. If you are going to put ramen on the menu you should absolutely be using proper ramen noodles.
I have lived in Japan for many years and was expecting somewhat authentic Japanese food here but was...
