Came for the banh mis which I saw recommended but ultimately found it just ok. Got the special combo for $9 and staff offered to cut it when I requested chilli on only half of the roll (I was sharing with the wife who doesn't do spicy). It was even helpfully labelled on the box which half is which though unhelpfully was the wrong way round, as wifey found out when her non spicy portion packed a kick she wasn't expecting. Good thing she had a Vietnamese iced coffee ($5) to help keep things cool. The coriander was quite wilted and the bread crust not particularly crunchy, but otherwise the flavour was not too bad. Overall not something I'd go out of my way for but could be an option if I'm already in the area. My son got a steak and pepper pie - decent price at $6 but the pepper was concentrated in a few hot spots and became too much for him to handle so I ended up eating most of it. Again an adequate eating experience if you're after a pie but not one I'm in a hurry to repeat. The hot chips ($6) were freshly fried so nice and hot, This is a purely takeaway store so no seating for dine in, though there was a bench on the footpath outside which we made use of and waited whilst the chips were fried. Service was polite and friendly.

Visited The Annerley Kitchen a couple of times now, and each time they have consistently delivered quality food and drinks, with a good selection of baked goods to choose from. Their ability to customise orders to suit individual preferences is a real plus. Despite the warm interior when you first walk in, the staff always appear unaffected and remain cheerful. Ordering is quick and straightforward - truly service with a smile. I highly recommend trying their banh mi paired with a sugar cane drink or Vietnamese coffee for a perfect match. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality of the food is exceptional in terms of flavour, taste, and aesthetics. Additionally, you can order custom cakes for collection, making this a versatile spot for both casual bites and special treats. Please note, there is a step up and a slope at the entry, so be cautious when entering. Overall, highly recommended!

Anne was amazing! Ordered a gluten free cake for my 21st birthday and she had great communication and very reasonably priced. I had sent Anne a photo of the cake I wanted and it was recreated better than I could have ever imagined! It was beautiful! I am coeliac so was a bit nervous about externally ordering a cake but Anne was great in communicating and ensured the cake would be coeliac which was comforting. It was a delicious gluten free cake and I have received so many compliments from guests about how delicious it was and they were also unaware it was gluten free which was a great sign! Would definitely recommend Annerley Bakehouse!!

My 1st ever banh mi was from Annerley Kitchen via delivery and it made a fantastic first impression. Now that I’ve tried banh mi from other places, it is still my favourite. Today i drove 30mins to get a brisket banh mi fresh (vs delivered). It was delicious…hot, tender, tasty, good sized serving of brisket. I forgot to ask for no coriander but it was only sitting on the top so I could easily pick it out.

On a weekday morning there was easy parking in the laneway. There was no dining area at the bakery itself, but I found a park bench under a tree around the corner to sit and enjoy the food. I think I’ll try one of the delicious-looking pies next visit. They also had rice/noodle bowls, burgers (fried chicken yum!), pho and bubble tea, as well as general bakery products. Wish I lived closer! Thanks for a...
