I went to Fairfield garden shopping centre today for the 1st time in quite some years. I was suitably impressed with the upgrade extensions and refurbishment of the centre. There seems to be plenty of parking some undercover and others near the front entrance for a quick 'in and out '. The variety of shops was very pleasing. There is Coles and Aldi. Also a good varietyof shops. There is a charity shop which is a Lifeline. It stocks up market styles of women's clothing and kitchenware mainly, although quite an amount of Men's wear. The food stores are terrific quality too. Everything from "Grilled' to an upmarket sushi bar, etc. The bakery has great delicacies, a great variety of rolls, cakes for special occasions and also a variety of other small delights for coffee. There is a boutique and a gift shopthat are also a little unique... we need more of them. There is a Barber, nail salon, chemist and much more It's a truly a grade shopping centre for land and visitirs. I noticed the variety of products in Coles supermarket was quite diverse . Terrific to see a real variety of great products rather than just the mainstream.
Overall I was very impressed and would like to go here on occasions as a novelty from my usual shopping places even just...
Read moreI popped in to Coles to do some grocery shopping. Which was ok but I left unhappy. Firstly I think Coles has rejected its customers with self serve checkouts card or cash only. The other point is about little & big labeling signage of good's & items. Cole's is creating confusion with there signage, look at this cost signage, which I questioned. At first glance to me the cabbage in the frame cost $2, so at the checkout it was $5.90, haha, big difference in cost, I asked the checkout attendant to check the item which was undertaken under duress, then checked after 5 minutes maybe less. During that time I said to the attendant, if the price was $5.90 the signage was false because at first glance to me it was $2. After the person (the checker) returned with the correct price $5.90. I went back and took a photo item that caused the confusion. The checkout attendant offered the cabbage at $2 then changed their mind when the checker stated the above. The signage was my point, Coles has been a culprit for this false signage before..... See my photo I took after the checker came back..... Big $2 &:little $5.90. Sneaky old Coles...
Read moreThese are some awesome shops. Coles is great and staff are generally pretty good, and their management Adam is always happy to take on feedback. The new butchers are an excellent addition to these shops, I've been making meals with awesome stuff from there all week. Puzzles of the mind is good for a browse for gift type stuff, but also has a great selection of puzzles and board games! The fruit and veg shop here is again great, offering very similar items to Coles, however at a much higher quality. Standard veg shop vs Coles argument.
There is also a bunch of small cafes and restaurants around, and I think there is a Grill'd.
The Aldi I haven't tried, but always looks clean.
I would like to see a around-the-corner mirror near the library, the amount of times I almost get wiped out coming around that corner is nuts, big hazard point currently, especially during peak times.
Also goes without saying the back carpark is desperately due for an over haul, the over head shades have big support posts, which are way to close for the park spots.
Big plus: cool tree with fairy lights out the front makes the...
