Laneway 86 looks well-designed and attractive from the outside, all promising of a good experience.
I ordered a BLT in panini and a long black coffee.
The coffee arrived first, too hot to be drunk at that stage. The food had been toasted and was served on a paper plate with a paper napkin under the panini. I tried to pull the napkin out for use, but it was wet.
The panini was crispy on the outside, but the inside of the roll was soggy and moisture dripped out as I ate it. The filling was fresh, but the taste was bland and uninteresting.
By the time I finished the panini, the coffee was at the right temperature to drink. Disappointingly, the flavour was lacking the complexity of a good coffee, and dominated by its bitterness and shallow taste. No where near the best long blacks I have drunk over five decades.

Long-haired grubby-looking Barista who claims to have 4 yearsâ experience couldnât even make a long black with any crema at all and refused to accept constructive criticism and advice on how to make one properly (iâve been to barista school).

I sent an SMS and FB message to the owner but they never responded so obviously donât give a toss.

It was nice to sit in an open environment and enjoy the sun coming through the windows.
I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a mocha that came with texturised and frothy milk, and wasn't as sickly sweet as I have experienced in the past.
It's commemorable to know both the lads took the initiative to try and find out the answer I needed for a bottled drink question. It would be great if the information was on hand, to prevent any further frustration in next customers questions.
You'll see me...
