Wynnum R.S.L Club — Restaurant in Brisbane City

This was the first time we attended the RSL for fathers day. We arrived to the front desk in the hope of an explanation on how to become members or the process at least. Unfortunately Diane was the service guest attendant and she was in a bad mood (maybe just her). Found our introduction to the RSL very bad with the bad attitude displayed. We signed in with our other clubs membership. When i came back to ask about the membership i got a very unhelpful Diane yet again. I felt so uncomfortable i ended up going back to our table and sent my partner to become a member. She was also rude to him and said she couldn't do his membership right then and there. He asked why that was as we wanted to purchase meals. She said she'd do it after he questioned why he couldn't be. Anyway this put all 3 of us in a bad mood and its hard to enjoy yourself after such a rigmoral to just get in the place. Bar staff were friendly. The food counter staff were also friendly. My pork belly was unfortunately burnt but what wasn't was nice and the mash pumpkin cold. Sadly the front desk made such a bad impression we already had a bad taste in our mouths thanks to...

The staff were lovely, the food really nice. The only issue is that the food took a long time to come out. Mum had to get hers in a takeaway container when it arrived, because it had taken so long. Apart from that, the carrots in the salad were cross hatched that looked very good. I paid $28 for a barramundi dinner with chips and salad, and we got the kids meal for free. ($11 RRP). (Saturday deal).

We also attended a wake for my grandmother upstairs. (30/09/22). We purchased our drinks and the family had organised a spread of food. There was a slideshow of pictures of my family playing. It was very respectful and well done. Thank you.

Attended my grandfather's 90th birthday (6/1/23). We had two large tables, but they were a very snug fit, with relatives getting stuck between the chairs trying to get up to get food or go to the bathroom. The food was really lovely, and staff were awesome. The live music was really loud, but a highlight was when they sang happy birthday to my granddad and another guest. Havnt been here for a couple of months and have to say. .. what a total disappointment, we came for lunch , i had the fried sheep brains that were burnt, chips were over cook almost burnt, and bacon fried to a crisp, my husband had hoki which was cooked well but his chips also over cooked nearly burnt, the gaming room was so ice cold down the back that it was so unpleasant, the staff are all young and just hanging around reception talking, they just stared at me when i mention my issues, one young lad said sorry but not in a caring way, this is a RSL where is the senior staff??? Staff that actually want to take care and pride in their cooking, their service, the well being of their senior clients??? Well certainly not...
