KFC Burnie — Restaurant in Burnie

Every time I visit this KFC, I leave disappointed — and last night was the final straw. (14/7/25) I originally asked for 6 pieces of original chicken, but was told I’d have to wait 20 minutes, so I switched to hot and crispy boneless instead. When my order was ready, the box wasn’t even closed properly, and there was no thank you or even basic courtesy from the staff — they just drop your food and turn their back.

I checked my order before leaving and was shocked. The chicken pieces were tiny, more like crumbs than actual fillets — absolutely nothing like what’s shown in the ads or what I’ve received at other KFC locations.

I went back inside to ask if it could be fixed, and the same girl who served me said, “Well, no not really. We can’t do anything because that’s what all our chicken looks like.” No apology, no other options offered, and her attitude was rude. I felt dismissed.

I decided to come back later for a refund since I didn’t eat the food. As I approached the door, I actually heard the same staff say, “Why is she back again?” — completely unprofessional. Thankfully, the manager was polite, understanding, and offered me a replacement meal or refund. I appreciated her professionalism and accepted the refund.

But overall, this location constantly fails on food quality, service, and cleanliness. Something seriously needs to change.

Our first meal from KFC Burnie for a while. We wanted chicken burgers, but were told that none were available. So we ordered three pieces of chicken, ten pack of nuggets, potato and gravy, one bread roll, two large chips with extra salt and a drink. As usual , NO salt was on either of the chips so they went straight to the rubbish bin. I have no idea what you did to the chicken pieces, but they were so bad I decided that the cats could have them because there was no way I was going to eat it. Cats didn’t want it either. Oh well, let me at those nuggets. OMG! What the hell! The bin got them also. I wish I had taken a picture of the bread roll. It was so squashed it looked more like a mangled slice of baguette. You guessed it. Bin. The potato and gravy was acceptable, as was the juice. So, to sum up, the bin got the lions share of the thirty two dollars we wasted on your food. Thank you KFC Burnie. You just saved me around $70 per week. Because that’s around how much I usually spend at your establishment each week that I shall no longer be. The “no salt when I asked for extra salt” issue has been ongoing for years. You have lost a customer. UPDATE:- KFC contacted us and a replacement meal (2 actually) was offered and accepted. I have had two bad experiences in this store recently. The orders have been incomplete, missing items, or completely not what we ordered. Today’s experience today takes the cake.. a $160 order I bought in store ended up on the floor of the ground. Staffs members thought it correct too place all but my buckets of chicken into a single paper bag, when the bag was picked up the bottom of the bag fell out, spilling the entire contents of our order on the floor of the restaurant. The staff offered no help, but supplied us with two paper bags for us too place our order into. No offer of assistance or replacement of the potato and gravy that was spilled on the floor, so my husband and I picked up the spilled good, put them into the bags and left. The team members at the store need more education on how too pack orders, or offer customer assistance when needed. So I will not be returning too the Burnie store at all. I have been let down too many times over the years of buying takeaway from there, but today’s misadventure has sold the decision on not coming to the store again for purchases, I will drive to Devonport and back home for kfc...
